Chapter 8
Five years ago, Triston’s company was still struggling and he needed to attend frequent social events.
After a night of drinking, I somehow ended up in the wrong hotel room.
And so, a night of absurdity ensued.
The next day, Triston gave Eliza some money to keep her mouth shut.
I thought it was the end.
But a month later, Eliza came to the door with her pregnancy test results.
Triston’s mother had always despised me for not being able to have children.
There was even a time when he insulted me in front of me, saying, “You’re a hen that can’t lay eggs.”
She wouldn’t let go of the child who was delivered to her doorstep.
She gave Eliza some money to have her baby.
What was thought to be just a transaction, turned out to be an unexpected blossoming of affection between Triston and Eliza.
Stepped over the line of infidelity without hesitation.
Triston still held onto my hand, refusing to let go.
I disgustingly broke free, while my stomach churned. “Don’t touch me, I find it dirty!”
This sentence is what I sincerely said.
Triston’s hand froze in mid–air, and it took a while before he sheepishly withdrew it.
I never looked at him again and left with my head held high.
The communication meeting ended, and I immediately caught a flight back to the laboratory.
Continue doing my research.
I opened a non–profit studio using what I had learned, and dedicated myself to assisting vulnerable groups.
However, Triston was still not giving up and would call me every other day.
I didn’t answer any of them.
He came directly to my studio again, sometimes bringing a bouquet of flowers.
Sometimes, desserts were bought after waiting in line for a long time.
One time, I brought a lifelike doll and I was startled.
Was he deliberately provoking me, reminding me of those two stillborn children?
I coldly and directly threw the doll into the trash can.
Triston came again a few times.
I coldly faced him and kept my distance.
I didn’t touch any of the things he bought.
It was piled up at the door, until it turned into ashes, until it was picked up by a scavenger.
After a while, he probably felt bored and stopped coming without anyone knowing when.

On the contrary, it suited me perfectly.
When I was talking to my mom, she told me a shocking news that had exploded.
“Fortunately, you were clear–headed. I heard that the son gave birth by that mistress was not biologically Triston’s. He had been raising the kid for several years, and surprisingly, he never did a paternity test.”
“Triston got cheated raised someone else’s illegitimate child for several years…”
“However, he deserved it…”
My mother was still speaking up for me.
My parents did not agree when I stubbornly insisted on being with Triston before.
I couldn’t understand it at that time.
Now I finally understand.
It is important to listen to the advice of experienced elders.
There is a saying that goes, “Those involved are confused, while those on the sidelines see clearly.” Unfortunately, I only understand this now.
But it’s not too late either.
“That woman also infected Triston with a sexually transmitted disease, didn’t he visit you recently?”
“Saniya? Saniya? Did you hear what I said?”
My mother’s call woke me up from my contemplation.
I continued to be shocked in my heart, finding it a bit difficult to accept so much information all at once.
Although they had long been unrelated to me.
Triston’s mother immediately changed her expression after she found out that the child was not her biological child.
First, someone found Eliza and gave her a moderate beating.
Then she swept the floor and left the house with the child.
And it was not until then that they remembered my goodness.
They wanted to bring me back
