Chapter 6
Richard looked at me, his eyes bloodshot. While repenting, he begged me. for forgiveness, “Honey, please give me another chance. I promise that I’ll treat you even better from now on. Please, just give me a chance…”
In the past, I loved it when he called me “Honey“.
But since I heard him call Trista that once, now I simply felt sick.
I let out a weak smile, pointing at my chest that had just been stitched up, still covered with bloodstains.
Then I asked him word by word, “You killed my baby and broke my heart into pieces. Why should I forgive you?
“Richard, of all people, you’re the most disgusting. I want a divorce.”
He cried, shrieking, “No! Lizzie, I didn’t know it was you. It’s just a misunderstanding! Please, just give me another chance!”
He crawled toward me on his knees.
Then he took my hand and slapped himself hard several times.
Using the last bit of my strength, I pushed him away abruptly. “Get lost! You make my skin crawl.”
He froze, then his hand holding mine dropped weakly.
Ignoring him, I turned around and coldly stared at Trista, who was hiding in the corner.
The complacency on her face was long gone, and now, she looked. completely panicked.
Then I said, “Maybe you didn’t recognize me, but Ms. Barnett recognized me long ago.”
Richard’s expression changed in an instant. His eyes were filled with mixed emotions, including sadness, pain, fury, and resentment.
Gritting his teeth, he rushed over to her and slapped her hard.
Then he grabbed her by the hair and scolded furiously, “It’s all your fault, bitch. If not for you, I wouldn’t have made a mistake. I blame you!
“I’ll kill you! You’re the reason why I lost my baby boy!”
With that, he started to kick her and punch her hard. Soon, her heart- wrenching scream filled the operating room.
“Honey, stop! I’m Trista! You said I’m the only one you love. Have you forgotten?”
She screamed while crying hysterically, which was further amplified in the quiet operating room.
The more she said, the paler Richard’s face became, and the harder he kicked her.
Suddenly, he turned around, grasped a pistol from one of the bodyguards, and pointed at Trista’s forehead.
Immediately, the people present gasped.
Trista, lying in a pool of blood, couldn’t even utter a complete sentence.
She could only stutter intermittently while sobbing, “I won’t… do it
again…”
Her hands were covered in blood. She wanted to cling onto Richard’s. thigh, but he kicked her away,
The scene was so familiar.
I remembered how miserable I was when I was at the gym.
I smiled.
Looking at the blood all over Trista’s body, I felt good.
But it was far from enough.
From that day on, Richard started looking for a compatible heart with me around the world.
He also suggested swapping the heart inside Trista’s body back to me.
I said, sensing him out, “I might as well be dead. Then she can be legal wife.”

Upon hearing this, he swore right away, “Lizzie, it was just a fling. I was playing with her.”
He was such a liar.
If it was just a fling, he wouldn’t have been with her for five years.
What a clumsy lie.
I didn’t expose him and said mockingly, “Oh, really? Could you bear to leave her?”
Seeing the coldness in my eyes, he knew I wasn’t joking and immediately.

said firmly, his eyes red, “Lizzie, you’re the only one I love. Believe me. She’s the sister of one of my former subordinates; he saved my life, and I promised him I’d take care of her.”
Take care of her in bed?
I nodded while maintaining a sarcastic smile.
I wouldn’t dare to believe him again.
After I believed him once, my baby was dead, and I narrowly escaped.
This time, I’d believe myself only.
After a few days, I was relatively better and could stand another surgery. Both Trista and I were wheeled into the operating room..
Unlike when Richard was around, she now wasn’t meek at all. She grinned at me complacently, saying, “Don’t get cocky, Lizzie. He said he’d get me another heart.
“You’ll never have him all to yourself.”
See? In front of me, he beat Trista up brutally, acting as if he’d kill her.
Yet, behind my back, he invited top experts to treat her while searching for a new heart for her.
