Even Thomas chimed in, though hesitant. “I’ve met her family before. I don’t remember anyone
ever mentioning a sister…”

But something in his expression shifted. A flicker of doubt. If I had nothing, why was I still standing
so calm?
Meanwhile, Brandon was starting to look nervous.
That said it all.
“We located records of your twin sister,” Daniel said coolly and precisely. “She was raised abroad, returned to the U.S. two years ago–under a different name. The identity you’ve been using here? Entirely falsified.”

As the photos and DNA results flashed across the screen, Thomas’s eye twitched, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the armrest.
The rest of the courtroom turned in unison to stare at Madison, a chill crawling down their spines.

Even I felt a chill crawl down my spine.
Looking back now–it all made sense. And it was chilling.
“They’re fake! All of it!” Madison shouted, voice trembling. “If I really had a twin sister, then where is she?! Why isn’t she here?!”
She was grasping at straws.
Right then, a bailiff stepped forward and whispered something to the judge.
His eyes lit up.
