“The police have just submitted crucial evidence. The court will now begin a live video statement.”
The courtroom screen flickered.
A detention room came into view, and in it–sat a woman in cuffs.
“Name?” asked the officer.
“Lillian Reed,” she replied.
“Any family?”
“Just one. My twin sister, Madison Reed. She’s currently working as Brandon Lancaster’s assistant at Lancaster Group.”
The room went silent.
Everyone’s eyes shifted back to Madison–who now stood frozen, face drained of color.
She staggered back two steps, her mouth opening and closing, muttering in disbelief, “That idiot. She’s always been good at hiding… how the hell did she get caught now…”

Brandon looked like a corpse.
White as a sheet.
Then “You disgrace to this family!” Thomas suddenly roared, coughing violently before swinging his cane hard against Brandon’s side.
“You really did this? To her? Claire has stood by your side through everything, and this is how you repay her?!”
“You betrayed her. You betrayed us! You’re no son of mine!”
Evelyn rushed to hold him upright before he collapsed from rage.
“Enough!” Brandon suddenly snapped, breaking down completely. His voice turned wild, desperate.
“Shut up, you old fool!”
“So what if I lose the marriage? So what if Claire walks out?!”

“I’ll still live better than all of you! Madison’s got millions in offshore accounts–I’ll be set for life!”
The courtroom gasped.
Even Thomas and Evelyn froze, stunned into silence.
And then-
The light in their eyes faded. What had been outrage…turned into something far heavier.
Disappointment.
I let out a cold laugh, folding my arms.
“Brandon, are you really this stupid… or just trying to play dumb?”
“Go ahead, take a wild guess–why do you think Lillian got caught?”

Chapter 11
Brandon froze, finally realizing something finally realizing something had gone horribly,
irreversibly wrong..
Then the judge delivered the final blow.
“According to police testimony,” he began, “both Madison Reed and her twin sister, Lillian Reed, are serial fraudsters. They hold no offshore assets–only extensive debt.”
“Lillian confessed that their entire involvement with Mr. Lancaster was financially motivated.”
“They seduced him, infiltrated his life, and staged the false cheating scandal on the eve of his son’s first birthday, intending to disgrace Claire Whitmore and seize control of Whitmore Group.”
“But Claire’s sudden decision to file for divorce disrupted everything.”
The room exploded.
“What the hell? One mistress wasn’t enough–he needed two?!”
“He’s a dumpster fire in human form. If this were the Middle Ages, he’d be hung by the neck.”
“Men like him should be struck by lightning!”
“Poor Claire… she didn’t deserve any of this.”
Public opinion turned on Brandon like a flood.
Everyone who once defended him now looked at me with sympathy–and at him with disgust.
Brandon, who had just been so self–assured, stood there dumbfounded.
He slowly turned toward Madison, his voice cracking. “You… you conned me? You used me like some puppet?!”
Madison didn’t say a word.
That’s when Brandon lost it.
