Chapter 2
Harry didn’t get back until late at night.
As his assistant through their startup journey, Kira handled everything. from daily chores to work documents.
They were inseparable, and to make things easier, Kira even moved in
with him. with
At that moment, Kira sat on the sofa, browsing wedding dress styles for her wedding seven days later while talking on the phone about the details.
The man, just back from a social event, was surprised she didn’t greet him. or take his coat. Instead, she stayed on the sofa, focused on her call.
But Harry still caught words like “wedding dress” and “wedding” from her conversation.
Standing by the entrance, he rubbed his temple, clearly a bit annoyed, and said, I’m back?”
What are you doing? Didn’t you see
Kira put down the phone, glanced at Harry, and replied, “Nothing. I know you’re back.”
The man frowned at her tone but naturally took off his coat and handed it to Kira.
He was used to her taking care of him. Usually, the moment he got home, she’d take his clothes to wash.
But now, Kira’s expression was cold as she refused, “The washer’s right there. If you want it washed, put it in yourself.”

Kira was usually obedient and never refused his requests.
This sudden refusal made Harry’s slightly drunken, almond–shaped eyes narrow as he studied her closely.
He couldn’t pinpoint what felt off, but something had definitely changed.
Yet Kira’s expression stayed calm, showing no unusual emotion.
Harry clicked his tongue irritably. “Haute couture has to be hand- washed.”
“Then take them to the laundry.”
One setback after another sent Harry’s anger rising. He tugged at his tie in frustration, his tone growing colder. “What’s gotten into you today?”
Kira opened her mouth, but finding no point in bickering with him and having nothing else to say, she just went back to her room.
Once inside, she heard Harry talking on the phone just outside the door.
She didn’t want to listen, but the poor soundproofing let his voice come through clearly through the crack in the door.
Harry’s calm voice, tinged with arrogance, said, “I just got home and found Kira already picking out wedding dresses. Does she think I’m really marrying her at 30 because of that live interview?
“What I said to the reporters was just for show, but I did promise Felicia I’d marry her in seven days.”
The voice on the other end seemed to ask why he hadn’t told Kira the truth.
Harry sneered, his handsome face growing colder with mockery.

“You really think I’d just toss aside a free maid I’ve had for over a decade? If I were going to, it’d be after I marry Felicia in seven days.”
“What if Kira finds out?”
Harry chuckled. “I hid it very well. She won’t find out. Even if she does, what can she do? She’s so into me, that I can win her over with a snap of my fingers. She’s just a simp; she won’t make a fuss.
“Listen, don’t slip up and say anything…”
Kira didn’t want to hear anything more. She walked away from the door. feeling as if her heart had been plunged into an icy pond.
So in Harry’s eyes, she was just a simp he could coax with a snap of his fingers.
She blamed herself for not seeing it sooner, knowing all along he’d never marry her, yet still chasing him for 12 years.
In those 12 years, she’d confessed her love 9,999 times.
Every time he came up with excuses to reject her, she should have realized he didn’t love her and would never marry her.
Luckily, she’d woken up.
In seven days, she’d leave him to marry someone else.
