Chapter 6
Felicia said excitedly. “What a coincidence! I’m also getting married on the 7th.”
Then she asked Kira curiously, “Which wedding dress did you pick?”
Kira pointed to a heart–shaped, open–back gown displayed in the shop. window. “That one.”
“What a coincidence! We’re not only getting married on the same day but also wearing the same dress. Kira, now I’m curious, who’s your husband?”
Kira smirked and said, “Guess.”
Felicia paused for a moment, seemed to think of something, but quickly changed the subject.
Since Kira had reserved the wedding dress first, even though Felicia paid a higher deposit, the store manager had no reason to give Felicia the dress.
So the store manager refunded Felicia’s deposit, and Kira got the wedding. dress.
As Felicia left, she was fuming. “What a lousy shop. I swear, I’ll have my husband shut this place down someday!”
After Felicia left, Kira took her packed wedding dress and headed home.
In the apartment, Harry was sitting on the couch waiting for her.
Without noticing the dress in her hands, he frowned deeply and said, “Why are you just getting back now?”
“Oh, got held up with something.”
Harry didn’t press Kira about where she’d been. After a pause, trying to hold back his anger, he said, “The partner’s already pushing for the proposal. When are you going to finish it?”
His tone carried a mix of blame and frustration like Kira had messed up big time.
Not wanting to argue, Kira replied, “I’m on vacation.”
“So what? Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you can slack off. This proposal affects Fellon Group’s future. Don’t you know how
important it is to me and the company?” Harry slammed the table in frustration as he spoke.
Kira stared at the angry Harry, finding him strange.
The proposal was important to Fellon Group and to him, but not to her, especially since she was no longer an employee.
Even if she still worked there, wasn’t there someone else who could handle it?
So she just quietly watched Harry lose his temper, saying nothing.
Even though Kira said nothing, her silent stare made Harry uneasy.
He swallowed his anger, realizing he’d gone too far.
Softening his tone, he walked over and grabbed her shoulder. “Kira, I know you’ve been through a lot by my side all these years. Once you finish this proposal, I’ll announce your promotion to Vice President of Fellon Group. From then on, besides me, you’ll be the one calling the shots, basically the boss’s wife. How’s that?”
If it were before, Kira would’ve been moved to tears hearing that.
But now, seeing through Harry’s tactics, she wasn’t the same Kira who’d get emotional over his words.
When Kira didn’t respond. Harry assumed she didn’t like it and asked, “Are you unhappy when I say this?”
Kira shook her head ever so slightly, not wanting Harry to notice the change in her, then said, “I’m happy.”
“If you’re happy, then help me finish that proposal, okay?”
After saying that. Harry felt relieved.
He didn’t notice the cold, distant look in Kira’s eyes as she stared at him.
At the same time, Harry answered a call, and Kira heard a woman’s tearful voice on the other end.
After hanging up, Harry didn’t say a word and rushed out the door.
Kira knew it was Felicia calling.
She wondered what Felicia said to make Harry so anxious.
Kira hadn’t planned to find out more, but when she went downstairs to take out the trash, she saw Harry holding Felicia at a coffee shop across the street.
Inside, Felicia cried as she demanded, “I ran into Kira at the bridal shop today. She picked the same wedding dress as me, and our weddings are on the same day. Even if you don’t say it, I know you and Kira grew up together. You two have a special bond. I just want one answer. Are you marrying me or Kira?”
Seeing Felicia cry, Harry’s heart broke. He gently pulled her into his arms.
Even as Felicia struggled and punched him, he didn’t let go, softly
explaining. “Kira grew up with me, but her one–sided love is a bit obsessive. The one I want to marry is you
“Felicia. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to make you misunderstand. It’s my fault for not explaining sooner.
Harry’s face showed a hint of frustration
“She’s delusional. She can’t have me but keeps imagining she’s my fiancée. But Felicia. I only love you.
Felicia tearfully smiled at Harry’s confession. They embraced and kissed right there in the coffee shop, completely ignoring everyone else.
Hearing this. Kira only felt more convinced that Harry wasn’t worthy of her love.
Back home, she found several new messages from Felicia on her phone.
The messages were full of venom and threats, dripping with anger.
“Harry told me everything. If I catch you bothering him again, I’ll expose you at the company and ruin your reputation!
“You shameless bitch, messing with someone else’s relationship! Aren’t you afraid of karma?
“We’re happy and about to get married. He wouldn’t give a second look to someone like you, no matter how much you try. Got it?”
Kira glanced at the messages without expression, then put her phone down without replying.
But when Harry got home, he nervously asked, “Kira, did you get any strange messages?”
“No.”

Hearing that, Harry sighed in relief but reminded her, “Make sure you finish the tender proposal. Don’t drag it out.”
Too bad..
Kira was about to let him down.
