Chapter 30 Proposal
The game started. First, she needed to find a windmill.
It was easy to find, even at night, because it was twinkling. Yolanda walked along the coastline for about 10 minutes and got to the windmill.
“There is a flight of stairs southeastward. Go up the stairs.”
Yolanda went to the southeast of the windmill and saw the stairs. There were lights along the stairs. She went up and saw a white house with a blue roof at the end.
“You need to find a special tree near the house.
“A special tree?”
“Yes.”
“Any tips?”

Yolanda looked around the house and saw many trees, such as pine trees, wax trees, and hollies. Then, she saw a buttonwood with yellow leaves.
The tree had been hit by lightning, so it was hollow. But it was still thriving. That was why it was special.
“An iron box is in the tree.”

Yolanda turned on her flashlight and saw a rusty iron box in it. She took
it out and managed to open it.
There was a fairy wand in it.

Yolanda thought it was childish, so she burst into laughter. But she still picked up
the fairy wand and pressed the pink heart–shaped button as he
said.
All of a sudden, countless colorful lights were turned on, and music came
out.
The music was warm and cheerful. Meanwhile, the lights kept changing their colors. Surrounded by the romantic things, she felt like a princess in a fairy tale.
“There is one more surprise in the magic ball of the wand,” he said.
The magic ball was twinkling. She opened it, and something fell off. She caught it and unfolded her hand. A ring was lyin

“Yolanda, marry me.”
Yolanda stared at the message in a daze. Although they had set the wedding date, he still proposed to her.
The proposal was lovely, and the place he did that was amazing.
But on second thoughts, he could have prepared it for another woman. After all, it seemed that he prepared it before he even knew her.
She was upset.
“It’s not for someone else. I prepared it for my future love,” he explained as if he had read her mind.
Yolanda’s heart fluttered. He was always so thoughtful.
“The ring may not be your size. If it’s not, I’ll get a new one for you when I’m back.”

Yolanda looked at the platinum ring with a diamond on it. It was simple
but beautiful. She tried it on her middle finger and found it was
surprisingly her size.
Thus, she took a photo and sent it to Brent. “It’s exactly my size.”
Brent replied, “Maybe you are destined to be my bride.”
Yolanda sat down on a stair, looked at the colorful lights and the house, and listened to the sound of the waves in the distance. Everything was beautiful.
But she thought despite herself, “Isn’t this island’s owner the Patton family? He came here too? Since he kept the surprise for such a long time, he can’t be a guest…”
It didn’t matter to her, so she didn’t ask.
Yolanda took a brisk walk back. She felt lonely when she was on the beach, but now, she was contented.
When she got back, Paige was waiting for her in anxiety.
“Ms. Nielsen, you finally came back. Go change your clothes in the room now.” Paige pushed her toward their room.
“What clothes?” Yolanda was puzzled.
“The clothes Mr. Patton prepared for you. He wants to thank you for saving his life.”
Yolanda thought, “The snake that bit him isn’t venomous, so technically, I didn’t save his life.”
But before she could respond, Paige reached over to take her clothes off for her.

There was a silky white sun dress, a pearl necklace, and earrings on her bed. She got changed, put on light makeup, and went to the villa with Paige.
The music paused. As the door was opened, Yolanda was pushed in by Paige and drew everyone’s attention.
“Paige, I should be waiting for Mr. Patton outside…”
She felt awkward, wanting to get out, but Sidney called her, “Yolanda, I forgot you were here. Come in!”
Sidney walked to Yolanda in high heels with an unfathomable smile. Then, she grabbed Yolanda’s arm and pulled her in.
“Let me introduce her. She’s Yolanda Nielsen. We went to the same college. You may not have seen her, but you must have heard of her, who has been on a trending topic for a long time. She was fired by the hospital. Then, she became the generous Jaslyn’s personal doctor.”
Everyone understood when hearing about the trending topic and cast a scornful look at Yolanda.
“Please don’t mind. She’s a scheming hick who prepared the party dress for herself. I was so busy that I forgot she was here, but she came uninvited. How rude,” Sidney added with irony.
Yolanda frowned and shook away her hand.
“I’m not here for your birthday party. I’m…”
“I know. You are here to meet more men. After all, you have to find another meal ticket after Mr. Navarro dumped you.”
Hearing that, everyone exploded into laughter.

Yolanda was speechless because of Jaslyn’s condescending attitude.
Suddenly, a person shouted, “Mr. Patton is coming!”
Everyone turned around. Seeing Konnor, they all clapped their hands. Yolanda saw Konnor wearing a white suit. He was refined as if the man yelling and turning over on the beach were not him.
“You shouldn’t be here!” Antwan moved closer to her and said.
Yolanda took a step away from him and didn’t say anything.
“Besides, don’t you think it’s inappropriate to be wearing this dress?”
“Antwan, what’s wrong with you? Your fiancée is there. Why are you so close to me?” Yolanda said with disgust.
Jaslyn turned to her and sighed. “Yolanda, enough. You’re like a clown.”
Those around them heard it and laughed under their breath.
Sidney snorted. “You’d better get out now. If I have to kick you out, it’ll be mortifying for you.”
Right after Sidney said that, the music restarted, and Konnor was going to do the first dance.
Sidney straightened her outfit and waited for Konnor to invite her. After all, she was the birthday girl and Konnor’s recent rumored girlfriend.
When Konnor looked in her direction, she walked forward immediately.
