He pulled out a photo album, full of evidence of Lucas’s crimes.
“He went crazy, ran to my office and made a mess.“”
Ruins and rubble everywhere. If not for the intact sculpture at the entrance, I wouldn’t have recognized the Council Chamber.
“He even killed several of my pets.”
The Council members died horrific deaths.
“He didn’t believe you would disappear. He kept asking me, so I told him you were dead, that he killed you.”
“Then the beast stabbed me. It hurt like hell.”
The Commander rolled up his sleeve.
There were two huge swollen lumps on his arm.
“Since he didn’t believe, I took him to see the granary in the North District, and even pointed out the green grass in the Council Chamber to him.”

I spoke up.
I didn’t want to hear any more news about Lucas, no matter what he had become, it had nothing to do with me.
“Do whatever you want with him. Kill him if you
like.”
The Commander raised an eyebrow, looking unsurprised.
He snapped his fingers.
Someone came in carrying an iron tray.
In the center lay a poison needle covered in barbs, its split end still stained with blood. It had been forcibly broken off.
“Don’t worry, he’s not dead yet.”
A few days later, I found out what he meant by “not dead yet.”
Hearing that Ethan was back, the whole Federation held a grand welcoming ceremony.
He didn’t like the noise.
But not wanting to disappoint them, he symbolically walked a few streets with me.
“Oh? Isn’t that Miss Olivia? What’s she doing here?”
“Don’t you remember? They’re childhood sweethearts. Of course Ethan would marry Miss Olivia now that he’s back!”
“Have you seen Miss Olivia’s bodyguard? I heard he looks exactly like Ethan.”
“Tsk, you mean that scorpion? He almost turned the Federation upside down a while back. Even the Commander couldn’t handle him. If he hadn’t gone crazy and ripped out his own poison needle, I’m afraid we’d all be in trouble.”
I snapped back to reality and found Ethan looking at me.
“Still thinking about him?”
I shook my head.
He held my hand, and feeling that wasn’t enough, pulled me into a tight embrace, rubbing his head hard against my neck.
The usually composed man was no longer composed.
Showing his childish side in front of his lover.
“You can only think about me.”
“Otherwise……”

He buried himself deeper, completely leaning on me, his lips pressed thinly against my flesh.
His voice had an almost imperceptible tremor.

A six–foot–tall man saying such things.
laughed, wrapping both arms around his broad shoulders to comfort him: “Alright, I won’t make you cry.“”
The Commander had urgent business and summoned Ethan.
“It’s fine, it’s not far from home. I’ll go back by myself.”
On the way through an alley, the smell of blood was pungent.
Blue liquid flowed to my feet.

This was the most horrifying scene I had ever witnessed. In a giant cage, countless corpses were piled up, some with broken limbs, some with only skeletons left.
