Chapter 15 Bianca’s Scheme
Those who truly knew Zavier understood one thing: the calmer he appeared on the outside, the stronger the emotions surged on the inside.
“Mr. Velez…” his assistant cautiously reported to Zavier.
“The Finley family in Fizzoria will be holding their annual celebration. this Saturday. Should I cancel your schedule so you can attend?”
“Mm.” Zavier nodded.
The Finley family was a leading Teblarian enterprise in Fizzoria, and Zavier had long wanted to be associated with them to expand his international business.
Unfortunately, the Velez Group wasn’t quite qualified yet. He had exhausted every means just to get an invitation to the annual celebration, intending to use the occasion to make some valuable connections.
If he could climb aboard the Finley family’s ship, it would greatly boost the Velez Group’s development in Lasthelm.
The two walked out of the police station in succession.
“Oh, right.” A thought struck Zavier.
“I heard Seth recently found his long–lost granddaughter. He might announce it at the annual celebration. Pick out a gift for her on my behalf.”
He wasn’t sure whether he would need it, but it was better to be prepared.

“What kind of gift should I choose?”
The assistant’s question stumped Zavier. He stopped in his tracks, frowning hard.
Lenora had always had great taste. She used to take care of gift selection. and arrangements like this.
But now, Lenora was no longer around.
The thought dimmed his expression, and in a hoarse voice, Zavier said, “Just choose something according to my wife’s taste.”
“Got it.”
On the celebration day.
The event was scheduled to start at noon.
Early that morning, Cecilia dragged Lenora out of bed and into the makeup room, where a professional stylist and a makeup artist began prepping her.
Even after washing her face, Lenora still looked drowsy. The makeup artist reached for the lightest shade of foundation.
There was no other choice. Lenora’s skin was incredibly fair and flawless.
Even observing her skin up close while applying the base, the makeup artist couldn’t find a single pore or blemish.
“Ms. Finley, your skin is amazing. What aesthetic procedures do you do?”
She assumed Lenora’s perfect skin was a product of injections and
treatments.

“None.” Lenora yawned lazily. “I rarely even use skincare products, and I almost never wear makeup.”
In the past, she only wore makeup when attending social events with Zavier. Most of the time, she just washed her face with water and dabbed on a little baby cream.
“Seriously?” The makeup artist grew even more envious.
It seemed like some people were just born with pretty faces and great skin.
After her makeup and hair were done, Lenora was still yawning non–stop.
Cecilia, heart aching at her daughter’s lack of sleep, glanced at the clock on the wall and decided, “There are still two hours until the banquet starts. Liliana, take a quick nap.”
“Mm.” Lenora nodded obediently and leaned back in her chair, closing her eyes with her mother’s gentle touch.
Maybe because she finally had a family she could rely on, she had been feeling extra sleepy these days.
“Mrs. Finley, there’s a call for you.”
Just as Cecilia was lovingly watching her daughter sleep, a maid pushed open the door holding a ringing phone.
“Got it.” Not wanting to wake Lenora up, she took the phone and stepped outside to answer it.
The makeup artist and the stylist, having packed up their tools, followed her out.
The makeup room fell silent in an instant.
Moments later, the door swung open again.
But it wasn’t Cecilia or the stall who entered. It was Bianca.
Tiptoeing through the bedroom into the makeup room, Bianca glanced around and saw that no one else was there.
Only Lenora sat in the chair with her eyes closed. It wasn’t clear whether she was asleep or not.
“Liliana?” Bianca called softly, but got no response.
She raised her voice slightly, “Liliana… Liliana, wake up, the banquet is about to start.”
Receiving no response from Lenora, Bianca confirmed that she was asleep.
Bianca’s delicate face twisted with disdain as she mocked, “Just as I thought, you’re nothing but a bumpkin. It’s such an important event, and you’re still sleeping!
“Now that you let your guard down, I surely can’t waste the opportunity.”
With that. she walked over to where the gown was.
The dark green gown was draped over a plastic mannequin, its long hem cascading to the floor, exuding a serene and graceful beauty.
Bianca picked up the scissors from the table and quietly moved behind the gown, snipping open the stitching that secured the strapless bodice.
After this little sabotage, the gown wouldn’t hold up for long. It would slip off Lenora during the event.
She’d be exposed in front of everyone. That would be a total humiliation.
When it was done, Bianca set the scissors down with satisfaction and snuck out of the makeup room.
Just one second after she left, Lenora slowly opened her eyes. Those previously drowsy eyes were now glinting sharply.
An hour later, Cecilia came to wake up Lenora and help her change into the gown, zipping it up at the back.
“All done!”
With her makeup and her hair styled, Lenora slipped into the dark green gown once more. She looked perfect, just like a princess out of a fairy. tale.
“Let’s go.” Cecilia held Lenora’s hand and helped her out of the bedroom. “Let your father see how stunning you are.
She couldn’t wait to show her daughter off to the world!
The Finley family had all gathered in the living room, ready to head to Vienna Diner, the most prestigious restaurant in Fizzoria, for the annual celebration.
After being rejected by Cecilia, Bianca booked a rival designer of Anthony to custom–make a red sequin spaghetti strap gown.
The dress showcased her curves to their fullest, making her look sexy and bold.
Jerimiah’s wife, Amelia Owen, praised her graciously, “Bianca’s figure is amazing. Anyone else wouldn’t be able to pull off a dress like that.”
“Of course! A rich heir once fell for Bianca’s figure and pursued her relentlessly, but she turned him down.”

Livia beamed with pride.
“A feminine and alluring figure like this is the most popular!”
“Mom, stop it,” Bianca said, pretending to be shy while glowing with delight. She picked up her mirror and eagerly touched up her makeup.
It sounded like seducing men with their bodies was something they were proud of, and it made Amelia uncomfortable, so Amelia changed the subject.
“We’re about to leave. Why hasn’t Liliana come down yet?”
Her compliment on Bianca was just out of courtesy, and she didn’t want to hear them brag anymore.
The sound of high heels echoed through the hall. Everyone looked toward
the source.
And then they saw Lenora descend the stairs in a green strapless gown
gracefully.
Her hair was pinned back with a jade hairpin, and her delicate face wore just the right amount of makeup.
The classic bold red lipstick stood out vividly against her fair skin. It was impossible to look away from her.
The living room instantly fell silent.
Everyone was stunned by Lenora’s beauty.
Even though she’d spent over twenty years away from the family, her noble bearing still radiated from her bones.
