Chapter 26 I’m Not Scared
Lenora’s expression turned gloomy as Johnny threatened her in a dangerous tone.
Jaron was standing in the back quietly. Once Johnny shouted, Jaron stood. in front of Lenora, shielding her.
“Mr. Welch, Lenora is appointed to be the CEO here by the Finley family.
“If anything happens to her, you’ll have to answer to the Finley family.”
Jaron’s tone was mild, but it didn’t make his words less intimidating. Johnny looked less angry.
Lenora was touched when Jaron stepped forward.
Since she decided to come here, she knew she’d encounter various difficult situations. But she never thought someone would stand up and protect her.
No wonder Xander picked him. Working here to spy on Johnny was a
waste of Jaron’s talent.
“I may not be a direct descendant of the Finley family, but I’m family. Even if I can’t kick you out, I can make your life here miserable.
“Mr. Welch, take care of the finance problem and we’re good.
“Or I’ll show everything to Rodney.”
Lenora slammed the file on the desk.
The evidence was found by Xander. It’d recorded all the misconducts Johnny had done over the years.
Lenora went through it and picked out some crucial information to put it aside.
She didn’t want to alert Johnny and ruin Xander’s plan.
Watching Lenora and Jaron leave the room, Johnny slammed his fist on the desk angrily.
He thought he was going to scare this young woman off with this meeting. Yet, he got screwed by her instead.
“Mr. Welch, what should we do?”
“Tell us, Mr. Welch. She didn’t look like she was bluffing. How does she
find out so much about us?”
“We can’t let her show anyone the evidence. Or we’ll be thrown into prison.”
Everyone in the conference room grew anxious.
Once Lenora tossed the file on the desk, they grabbed it and read it one by one.
Surprisingly, it contained their dirt too.
In other words, Lenora was holding it over all of them.
If she sent it to the police, they’d all be locked up.
“Calm down. She’s just a girl. I can handle her.”
Johnny’s face looked murderous.
The other men immediately understood that Johnny had a plan and
relaxed.
There were CEOs in this company before. But none of them had stayed
long.
Some were as eager to right things as Lenora. In the end, they all failed and left.
So far, none of the CEOS had stayed here for more than half a month.
Lenora was unaware of the discussion after she left. But she had an idea of how they’d act.
She never thought she could get these black sheep out at once.
If it was that easy, Xander wouldn’t have to wait.
“Johnny controls the office. Your life here will be hard as you really piss him off today.
“I’m confused. Why did Mr. Finley send you here?
“However, take it from me. Ask for a transfer now.”
Jaron waited till they were out of earshot to speak up.
If Lenora was the precious daughter Xander just found, she shouldn’t stay in this office for bad things would happen to her.
Lenora was surprised that Jaron already found out her identity.
“I asked him to assign me here. So, I won’t leave just like this.
“Anyway, I have bodyguards watch over me. Johnny can’t hurt me even if he tric
Lenora said seriously.
Since she reunited with her family, her parents and Grandpa gave her a team of bodyguards in case anything happened to her again.
The bodyguards were keeping her safe from the dark, so nobody noticed.
Without them, Xander wouldn’t agree to send Lenora to this branch
office.
“Dad gave me your file, saying that you’re the only person I can trust in this company.
“So, Mr. Lyons, I hope we can work together.”
Smiling, Lenora extended her hand.
She had met tougher and more dangerous men around Zavier.
Johnny couldn’t scare her off.
After a pause, Jaron answered, “I’ll try my best to assist you, Ms. Finley.”
Lenora’s firm attitude convinced Jaron. He couldn’t help but get his hopes
- up.
He wondered what Lenora could accomplish in the end. Did she take after Xander and was a woman of action too?
It took the staff less than a day to change their attitude toward Lenora.
Obviously, they heard about what happened at the meeting.
Lenora was pleased with their reaction. That was the change she had in mind when she planned it.
Coming home after work, the Finleys all asked about her first work
“I adapt to it quickly.”

Lenora said with a gentle smile and left out the hard time the people gave
her.
She couldn’t complain as she asked to go there.
Bianca was envious as everyone was fussing about Lenora.
“I have to say. Serve her right. Why did she have to go to the office? She’d only bring trouble as she isn’t as competent as she thinks!”
After the party, Bianca hadn’t been in the manor for a long time.
She couldn’t control herself and visited once she heard Lenora got a job in the branch company.
Seth gave Lenora
6% of the shares once Lenora returned. And now she got a job too? At this rate, she was going to take control of the Finley family soon!
Bianca felt it was her duty to come home and keep an eye on Lenora. She
couldn’t let Lenora win.
“Bianca, you’re back already?”
Melany’s comment stood out among her family’s coddling, so Lenora. finally noticed that Melany was standing in a corner.
Lenora thought Bianca would be grounded in the suburban house for at least a month.
It’d only been a few days and Bianca was back.
