Chapter 9
Seeing the divorce agreement on the dresser, Jerome was confused.
Why was his signing on the last page? When did he sign such a thing?
In a daze, Jerome suddenly recalled that Crystal asked him to sign a document a few days ago.
After they got married, Crystal had been managing Jerome’s money. Crystal had always asked him to sign some financial documents. So, when Crystal handed him the divorce agreement, Jerome thought it was about financial investment and signed it without reading it.
Crystal’s major was finance. She was talented in finance and had made. a lot of money through stocks and finance products. Jerome wasn’t worried at all when Crystal was managing his money. He signed the documents she wanted him to sign without reading them.
But Jerome hadn’t expected that what he signed back then wasn’t an investment agreement but a divorce agreement.
It shouldn’t count. Jerome thought, “I didn’t want to sign it. Crystal tricked me. It’s illegal.”
Thinking of this, Jerome suddenly smiled. He got it! This divorce agreement was illegal. Crystal didn’t want to divorce him but was only. mad at him.
If Crystal really wanted to divorce Jerome, she would have a big fight with him and ask to split their assets.

But Crystal just left quietly. Jerome didn’t think she really wanted to divorce him.
Jerome believed that Crystal was mimicking some movie plots. She was angry and left home, waiting for him to regret what he had done. Then, he would try his best to get her back.
“My Crystal is so childish,” Jerome smiled. “But also cute.”
After figuring it out, Jerome was completely relieved. He didn’t take the divorce agreement seriously at all. He tore it and threw the pieces into the trash bin.
Jerome casually threw away the note beside the divorce agreement as
well.
Jerome believed that everything Crystal wrote on that note was just alluring him to go look for her.
Jerome was confident. He believed that Crystal loved him so much and couldn’t live without him.
Although Jerome was confident, he decided to do his best to get Crystal back.
Jerome didn’t want their fake divorce to last long, so he decided to get Crystal back as soon as possible.
So, Jerome told his people, “Investigate where my wife is.”
“Yes!” Jerome’s people got his order and started to investigate.
Jerome guessed that Crystal was probably hiding pretty well since she wanted to play hide–and–seek with him. Finding her might not be easy. Maybe he should hire a private detective. After all, he had money.

But out of Jerome’s expectations, his people found Crystal’s whereabouts that night.
“Mr. Benson, Mrs. Benson is in France,” Jerome’s people reported to him respectfully.
Jerome raised his eyebrows. “So easy to find her? Is it a trick?”
It was so easy to find Crystal. Could Crystal be more careless?
“No. We have investigated it thoroughly,” his people said. “The company Mrs. Benson is working with opened a branch in France recently and needed a general manager from the US. Mrs. Benson applied for the position.”
Hearing this, Jerome wasn’t so confident anymore.
Overseas labor dispatches were usually long–term, lasting several years.
If this was just a normal fight, Crystal could have just traveled abroad. Why did she choose to work abroad?
Jerome wasn’t sure, but at least he found Crystal. Jerome wouldn’t bother himself by imagining troubles. Instead of thinking wildly, he preferred flying to France and asking Crystal in person.
Without hesitation, Jerome booked a flight ticket to France the next morning.
