“Sophia, will you trust me?“[]
The car suddenly stopped. Troy’s hand gripped the steering wheel tightly.[]
Sophia, lost in her own world, was startled back to reality.[]
She moved her tired gaze toward the window. The street lights had just come on, dispelling the darkness.[]
“Troy, I’m sorry.“]
“I don’t want any more connections with the Fuller family.“]
Troy lowered his eyes, disappointment flooding his face.[]
But in the next moment, he seemed to transform back into his cool, confident self:[]
“What are you sorry for? I just wanted to say I got authentic hot pot ingredients–do you trust my cooking skills?“]
“Didn’t you tell someone you were craving hot pot so badly you couldn’t sleep at night?“]
Sophia looked at Troy in surprise.[]
Then, under his gaze, she burst out laughing[]
“How did you know?“[]
Seeing her laugh. Troy joined in.[]
He couldn’t exactly say that to win Sophia’s heart, he’d already sent his best operative to be her assistant![]
He touched his nose awkwardly.]
“Your mother told me.“||
“Hmph, what else did she say?”
“She also said you drooled in your sleep from wanting it so badly!“]
“I did not!“]
Sophia’s smile deepened, and Troy’s eyes lingered on her briefly
His heart filled with warmth.]
Moving slowly was fine. He was confident she would fall in love with him.[]

Jason accompanied Ethan during his hospital treatment.[]
He had been desperate to find Sophia, but Jason forcefully held him back each time.[]
“Ethan, calm down. In your current state, what will you say to her? Sophia’s mother never wanted her with you anyway. Showing up like this will only make things worse!“]
He angrily punched the table.[]
“So I’m just supposed to watch Troy Fuller pursue her with bad intentions? She’s my wife! What right does he have to touch my wife!”
Ethan overturned the table, causing such a commotion that a nurse came to warn them.]
Jason looked at Ethan with difficulty, uncertain whether to share his thoughts.
Originally, Ethan had planned to abandon Sophia. Even if he now recognized his true feelings, Sophia clearly knew everything–how could she forget everything and be with him again?[]
And Troy Fuller–why had he appeared here? Was it about the Fuller family?
The Fuller family owed him so much, and Ethan had searched for him for years.]
They knew nothing about Troy, yet Troy showed no fear of Ethan.[]
Jason sighed heavily.
“Ethan, I still advise you to stay calm. For Sophia’s sake–do you really think a few words from me will persuade
her?”
“As your friend, I’ll try my best, but I can’t guarantee Sophia will listen. After all, back then…“]
He wasn’t just Ethan’s friend but also Sophia’s. Yet knowing about Veronica, he had helped Ethan keep his secret.]
He too had betrayed Sophia.[]
Hearing Jason’s words, Ethan’s heart sank completely.[]

Jason was left speechless.[]
Ethan’s eyes had improved, though people still appeared blurry. He slowly walked forward.]
“Mom, I know you don’t like me, but Sophia and I have been together so long and gone through so much. I really can’t let go. Give me one last chance–I truly won’t do anything to hurt Sophia again!“]]
His eyes showed sincerity, but they couldn’t move Meredith, who despised him.]
“Don’t say these things to me. I never liked you as a child–so calculating, so manipulative. You knew you weren’t welcome, knew the Fuller family saw you as a thorn in their side, yet you still clung to Sophia. When her father and I were fighting, you took advantage of the situation!“]]
Ethan’s lips tightened, his eyes full of determination. “I won’t leave until I see Sophia.“[]
“Then stay here and wait!” Meredith slammed the door shut.]

When Sophia returned from outside, she was with Troy
Afraid she might be cold, Troy removed his coat and gave it to her.]
