Chapter 9
As I expected, the surveillance footage had been deliberately destroyed.
But it didn’t matter Callum and I found the owner of a car that had been parked in the complex at the time.
That car’s dashcam had completely recorded the scene
From Leon getting out of the car and Emma intimately linking arms with him, to Noah throwing the compass at my face, to me pushing
him away in self–defense, and finally Leon attacking me–everything was captured
Interestingly, the dashcam also recorded what happened
dafter I left in the Uber.
After I left, Emma collapsed on Leon’s shoulder crying. As she cried, she hugged Leon tightly. Leon stroked her long hair and something, then suddenly Emma looked up and lightly kissed Leon on the lips.
So this was Emma’s idea of “avoiding suspicion.”
I had someone post these exciting clips online. Although faces were blurred, Emma was still recognized by her fans.
The situation completely reversed.

During the investigation, the small account that had doxxed my personal information was traced back to another phone registered under Emma’s naine.
- sued Emma for defamation
The evidence chain was complete–legal consequences awaited her.
Leon called me again, sounding irritated. “Julia, is it necessary to make things this ugly? Emma has a child–do you have to destroy her completely?”
I found it strange. “Now she remembers she has a child? When she was breaking the law, didn’t she think about having a child?”
Leon softened his tone. “I know you hate me. Fine, I agree to break our mate bond. I’ll sign! Emma and I are completely Innocent. Don’t drag innocent people into this because of me ”
I almost laughed. “Leon, don’t you think too highly of yourself? I’m suing Emma not because of you, but because she actually broke the law. I’m a lawyer–if I just let her go, how could I face the oath I took when I got my license?”
The day I received the Mate Bond Termination Certificate; I felt relieved.
Leon looked expressionlessly at Callum waiting for me in the distance and asked to hug me one last time.
I avoided him and coldly refused.
He smiled bitterly. “I know you don’t believe me, but Emma and I never had any substantial development. I admit I might have wavered for a moment, but on this matter, my conscience is clear.”
Faced with Ids righteous declaration, I said bluntly, “Your clear conscience is worthless to me.”
He asked, “After everything we’ve been through as bond–mate, besides sarcasm, don’t you have anything else to say to me?”
I thought about it and said seriously, “Actually, I do. You’re in trouble. You’d better find a good lawyer quickly.”
Leon’s face darkened as he turned and stormed off.
But I was being serious.
Months later, Leon was sued by a competing company for illegally obtaining trade secrets.
While Callum was investigating Leon for me, he discovered that when Leon took Emma and her son to Carlora Bay, they had stayed at
He checked the hallway surveillance.

tled Noah in her room, then wearing only a sheer lace nightgown, knocked on Leon’s door.
In the footage, Emma settled
Leon seemed to hesitate for a while before finally letting Emma into his room.
Two hours later, Enuma emerged. The lace nightgown was gone, and she was wearing Leon’s shirt and jacket,
Emma then took Noah to leave the hotel for sightseeing.
Leon stayed alone at the hotel and met with a technician from the competing company that afternoon.
Following this lead, Callum contacted that company.
He ultimately discovered that the technician was involved in stealing company secrets to sell to Leon, causing the company to lose a bid and suffer nearly ten million in losses.
After being sued, Leon had someone contact me, wanting me to be his defense attorney.
He spoke humbly, “I know I wronged you, but for the sake of how much we once loved each other, please help me. Also, I haven’t seen. you in so long. I really miss you.”
I had someone tell him I was very busy, but not to worry–he would see me soon.
Leon had no choice but to hire a famous lawyer at great expense to defend him
After the case went to court, he saw me in the courtroom–just like our first meeting years ago, except this time I stood at the prosecutor’s table while he stood at the defendant’s table.
So close, yet worlds apart.
This case became my masterpiece upon returning to practice. I personally sent my ex–mate to prison, never to see him again
