Julian’s mother, Mrs. Hayes, was gone.
Julian’s startup was halted due to lack of funds.
And the beautiful, gentle woman I thought was perfect even broke up with him during his hardest time.
When I saw him again,
He was utterly despondent.
All the light in him seemed to have been stolen away.
I don’t know where I found the courage at that moment.
But I decided I had to help him, I had to bring that light back to him.
I sécretly sold the house my parents bought me.
I put the money from the sale on a card and went to find him.
“Julian, there’s eight hundred thousand dollars on this card. Take it, and keep working on your company.”
At that time, he was in his rented, empty office, lifeless. He, who always cared so much about his appearance, had disheveled hair.
On the table, there were two beer cans.
I walked in.
For a moment, he didn’t even seem to recognize me.
My brother told me he’d reached out to many friends and met with many investors, but no one believed in him, no one was willing to fund his dream. He’d mortgaged everything he could, but it still wasn’t enough. His company dream was destined to crumble.
He was in an incredibly difficult place.
“What did you say?”
“I said, there’s eight hundred thousand dollars on this card. Take it and build your company.”
“You just graduated. Where did you get that kind of money?”
“I… just don’t worry about it. Just take it.”
He stood up, frowned, and pressed me.
“Where did it come from?”
My lips were tightly pressed, afraid to tell the truth.
He stepped closer, intimidating me.

“Aubrey, if you don’t tell me where this money came from, I won’t take it.”
Scared by his stare, I lowered my head and told the truth.
“I sold the house my parents bought me.”
He was shocked. He immediately shoved the card back into my hand and pulled me, walking.
“Aubrey, are you crazy? Who did you sell the house to? Come on, let’s go buy it back!”
He yelled at me, dragging me forcefully towards the door.
“It’s already sold, how can we buy it back? Julian, I just wanted to help you, I believed you would make your company successful! Did I do something wrong? Why are you being so mean?”
It was raining outside, but he still wanted to drag me out to buy the house back.
I cried.
I cried with such injustice.
All my good intentions, in his eyes, were just met with disapproval.
We stood frozen in the rain.
He stared at me.
My legs were numb from standing, starting to tremble.
Just when I thought I had messed things up with my good intentions, and he wouldn’t appreciate it,
He pulled me into an embrace.
He said excitedly, “Thank you, Aubrey. Thank you for believing in me.”
In the rain, I felt his strongly beating heart as he held me.
Journal Entry 6
That night,
In his rented office, there was a simple kitchen and bathroom.
We were both drenched.
He
gave me some of his clothes to change into after showering.
When I came out, my hair still wet, my heart was racing.
had never been alone in a room with him before.
But that day, he cornered me against the wall.
