Chapter 14
Raya clutched at Millicent’s sleeve like a drowning person grabbing a lifeline.

another chance to lie. He kicked her hard in the chest.
Raya slammed into the wall, feeling like her ribcage had shattered.
“Even now you’re still lying?!”
“I’ve already investigated everything. I know what’s true and what’s not!“.
Millicent’s hesitant hand pulled back, and the loving look she used to give Raya was replaced by disappointment and anger.
Looking at their faces, Raya knew it was all over.
“What’s the real truth behind everything?!”
The cold voice made Raya shiver uncontrollably. She didn’t dare hide anymore, tears streaming down her face.
“It was me. I wanted to drive Celia to death and take her place in the Fairborne family.”
The weight finally lifted from her chest, but Aurelian’s eyes only grew redder. He gritted his teeth and pressed on. “What about everything else?”
She broke down and confessed everything, each admission making his heart sink deeper.
“It was all me. Every single thing.”
“Celia never bullied me. The fall from the window, the assault story–all fake, all my setup. I framed her for everything.”
Raya didn’t dare hide anything anymore, terrified that if she hesitated even a second she’d face death again. She completely forgot about maintaining her image and confessed everything, watching their faces grow darker and feeling her panic intensify.
“But listen to me–I did all this because of you!”
Hearing this, Millicent shook with rage.
“You’re saying you did this for us? You killed my daughter for us?!”
Raya crawled over to Millicent on her knees, raising her tear–stained face.
“I grew up in foster care. I was so happy to live with you all. I wanted all your attention, that’s why I did these things.”
“Besides, you didn’t like Celia either, did you?”

Chapter 14
“Even without my schemes, Celia would have died from cancer anyway. Can’t we just pretend none of this happened?”
“We can go back to how things were–we’re the real family, aren’t we?”
Raya’s words left everyone stunned.
Millicent completely lost her composure and broke down crying. For the first time, she abandoned all her breeding, sobbing while pointing an accusatory finger at Raya.
“I never imagined you could think like this. Even now, you don’t feel any remorse.”
“I regret it so much–why did I adopt you? Why did I raise such an ungrateful monster who killed my own daughter?”
Silas spoke up harshly. “The Fairborne family gave you everything, and it still wasn’t enough? Your delusions went this far?!”
Raya turned to Aurelian. “Aurelian, you love me, don’t you? I know I was wrong. I can apologize to them, to Celia too, but I really do love you.”
“You love me too, don’t you?”
She thought this confession might move him, but his expression didn’t soften at all–if anything, it showed disgust.
“Don’t you think I fell for you because of your lies and manipulation?”
Aurelian lashed out at her. “Every one of your lies led me to make those terrible mistakes. A woman with such a vicious heart–you’re absolutely revolting.”
The obvious disgust in Aurelian’s eyes cut Raya to the core. For the first time, her tears were genuine. “No, Aurelian, I really do love you… and you loved me too, didn’t you?”
The love he’d once declared became her only remaining lifeline.
