Chapter 8
As I walked toward Colin in my white gown, a familiar voice suddenly called out behind me. “Jane, how could you marry someone else?!”
I turned around and saw Ivan in the crowd, staring at me.
Even though he was holding Cathy’s hand, his eyes were filled with emotions I couldn’t understand.
Cathy tugged at his hand, looking aggrieved.
“Ivan, it’s Mr. Stanton’s big day. Don’t do this!”
But Ivan acted like he didn’t hear her. He shook his hand free
and rushed toward me.
His eyes were red, and his voice trembled as he said, “Jane, I don’t agree with you marrying him! You’re my wife. How can you marry someone else?”
He wanted to grab my hand, but the security team quickly stepped in and surrounded him.
Colin’s expression darkened, his voice laced with anger. “Mr. Gibson, you weren’t on the guest list. It was my assistant’s mistake that you got an invitation.
“Since you’re here, just watch the ceremony. If you keep causing a scene, don’t expect me to be polite!
“If I remember correctly, you came begging me for a partnership not long ago. Aren’t you afraid I’ll withdraw it

Ivan froze for a moment, embarrassed.
After a long silence, he looked at me.
“Jane, you’re only marrying him because of me, aren’t you?
“You don’t have to be afraid. Just tell me, and I’ll take you home right now!”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Mr. Gibson, you’re overthinking things. Colin and I love each other. Whether we marry or not has nothing to do with you.
“You and I have been over for a long time. And let’s not forget, you’re the one responsible for my mom’s death. Why would I go back with you?”
Ivan’s face was pale, and tears streamed down his eyes.
He pursed his mouth, wanting to say something.
But before he could speak, Colin coldly ordered the security to remove him.
The security guards immediately grabbed his shoulders and dragged him out.
I thought the drama would end there.
But to my surprise, the always composed Ivan fiercely resisted.
Right in front of everyone, he suddenly dropped to his knees at my feet.

His trembling fingers clutched the hem of my wedding gown.
“Jane, I was wrong. I was so wrong!
“I know you hate me, and I don’t expect you to forgive me right away.
“I just want one chance to make things right. Please?”
He sobbed uncontrollably.
But I only frowned, disgusted, and kicked him away.
“Ivan, are you done?
“I don’t want your apologies or your attempts to make things right. Just seeing you makes me sick.”
He collapsed on the floor, eyes filled with despair.
As I turned to leave, he abandoned his dignity and crawled toward me on hands and knees.
“Jane, how can you say you don’t love me anymore?
“Have you forgotten? You’re the one who dug me out and promised you’d never leave me!
“And let’s not forget. You can’t even have children. Who else would genuinely love you?”
He was immediately kicked away.
Colin, furious, grabbed him by the collar and punched him in the face.
“Say one more word of nonsense, and you’re dead!”
