Chapter 23

Sebastian’s hands were trembling as he gripped the phone.

He suddenly looked up: “The birthday party when you framed her for stealing-that was you too?”

“And the allergic reaction and burns-were those all orchestrated by you? Clarissa, how could you be so vicious?”

Clarissa’s face instantly turned pale. She instinctively stepped back but knocked into a vase behind her, sending it crashing to the floor.

“I loved you too much, that’s why I did this…”

She cried as she tried to explain, “She was always pretending to be generous, pretending not to care. I just wanted you to see clearly…”

Sebastian couldn’t contain himself any longer and slapped her hard across the face.

Clarissa fell to the ground clutching her cheek, her face full of disbelief: “You actually hit me for her? And you still say you don’t care about her? Sebastian, you jerk!”

Sebastian listened to her screaming, feeling a surge of profound disappointment.

“All these years, you couldn’t see how good I was to you, could you? Even the Skylar family treated you like their own daughter. You could have lived peacefully.”

“Clarissa, I misjudged you completely.”

His words suddenly calmed the previously panicked Clarissa.

She looked up at him: “Sebastian, you don’t still think Elizabeth left because of me, do you? Let me tell you, she was born better than me, and I’ve always hated her. Why should she have everything I wanted? So I deliberately took away everything she cared about-her parents, including you.”

“But women understand women best. I’m telling you, she left you entirely because of your own actions, which made her completely give up on you!”

“Didn’t you always get everything you wanted since childhood, Mr. Whitmore? How does it feel? Losing someone you love hurts, doesn’t it? I thought you had no heart. You kept saying you loved me, but then you suddenly came to your senses. Are all men’s words equally unreliable?”

Clarissa’s words cut like knives.

They also pushed Sebastian’s anger to its peak, and he suddenly grabbed her throat,

“Shut up! What right do you have to judge me? You vicious woman!”

She immediately felt a powerful suffocation, but her mouth continued moving.

“Isn’t this the truth? You enabled me, so you’re no better!”

Sebastian’s grip tightened. At this moment, he just wanted the woman in front of him to shut up immediately.

By any means necessary.

Clarissa tried to resist, her nails digging deep into his hands, leaving obvious bloody scratches.

But he felt no pain, just maintained his death grip on her throat.

Only when Clarissa on the ground made no more sound did he release his hold.

Cold air rushed into Clarissa’s nostrils, and she couldn’t help but breathe rapidly.

His assistant walked in, saying they had found Elizabeth’s specific location.

Sebastian was about to leave when Clarissa suddenly lunged forward and grabbed his legs: “Sebastian, you can’t treat me like this!”

“Take her away and lock her up. Also notify the Skylar family about all this.”

Chapter 23

Sebastian pulled away from Clarissa’s grasp and ordered the arriving bodyguards: “Without my permission, no one is allowed to let her out.”

He strode toward the garage. As the car started, Clarissa’s hysterical crying gradually faded in the rearview mirror.
