Chapter 1
Chapter 1
After our class reunion, I woke up in a hotel room with my ex Edmund, only to find out that I had sex with him last night while we
were both intoxicated.
Filled with remorse about betraying Sebastian, my husband, I made the difficult decision to confess everything and face whatever
consequences came my way.
When I arrived home, Sebastian wasn’t there. His laptop was open with his WhatsApp visible when a notification suddenly appeared
“The drug worked perfectly–Anastasia Sterling was completely unconscious the entire time. She just left the hotel looking absolutely destroyed. Get ready for divorce proceedings.” -Edmund
Sebastian quickly replied: “Once Anastasia leaves with nothing but the clothes on her back, your $500,000 payment will be
transferred immediately.” -Sebastian
I hadn’t even processed what I was seeing when my husband’s WhatsApp automatically logged out.
Panicking, I shut down the laptop and tried to force a smile at the black screen.
“It can’t be true. Sebastian loves me so much…”
I couldn’t finish the sentence. My chest tightened with pain as tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. I buried my face in my
hands and sobbed.
Yesterday was our college reunion. I really wasn’t planning to go at all.
Sebastian had been gently encouraging me for weeks: “Honey, this could be good for you to reconnect with old friends. Plus, the company’s expanding right now–you never know what connections might help us.” His eyes had softened as he tucked my hair behind my ear. “Just a few hours. I know how much you miss your college friends.”
After we started trying for a baby, I’d handed the reins of my family’s company over to Sebastian. Seeing how hard he worked every day to keep things running smoothly, I finally relented and agreed to attend the reunion. He deserved my support after everything
he’d done.
At the event, I bumped into Edmund, my ex from a decade ago.
“Looks like the former lovebirds are back in the same room!” someone shouted, and suddenly everyone was laughing and shuffling us toward the same table. Edmund looked as uncomfortable as I felt.
After ten years and with a wedding ring on my finger, it seemed ridiculous to make a fuss, so I just rolled my eyes good–naturedly
and took a seat.
Throughout dinner, Edmund kept a respectful distance, occasionally passing dishes my way or refilling my glass.
After several rounds of drinks, the room began to spin, and everything went dark.
When I woke up the next morning, Edmund and I were naked in a hotel bed. The soreness and discomfort in my body told me
everything I needed to know about what had happened.
Edmund slapped himself in remorse, apologizing repeatedly and begging for my forgiveness.
I hastily threw on my clothes and fled.
Chapter 1
I knew I had betrayed Sebastian, and I didn’t want to lie to him.
A mistake was a mistake–I would admit it and accept the consequences of my betrayal.
But I never imagined this was all Sebastian’s scheme!
Now that I knew the truth, I couldn’t let them succeed.
I wiped away my tears, picked up my phone, and with trembling hands, dialed 911.
“I need to report a crime. I was drugged and sexually assaulted.”
After completing the examination at the hospital, the female officer who accompanied me drove me home.
“Once the test results come back and we have a complete chain of evidence, we’ll arrest the suspects immediately.”
“Thank you!”
