Chapter 13
Jonathan took out his phone and opened the chat box with Marissa.
Looking at her profile picture, his mood lightened a lot. “Baby, where are you? Have you met up with Mom and Dad and Uncle Chet?”
The message was sent out, and a bright red exclamation mark appeared on the screen.
Jonathan’s heart raced as he rubbed his eyes and looked at the words on his phone.
“The other party has enabled friend verification; you are not yet…”
“How could this happen…” He quickly opened the dialing interface, with Marissa’s number at the top, and pressed the call button.
While waiting, Jonathan anxiously gripped his phone, when suddenly
a sound came from it.
“Mari, you…”
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently switched off. Please try again later…”
He thought Marissa had answered the phone, but instead he heard a cold mechanical female voice.
Jonathan swallowed hard and pressed the dial button again. As expected, the same voice came through on the other end..
His mind went blank, Marissa blocked him, and his phone was turned
off
Jonathan weakly let his hands fall down, unsure of what to do next.
Marissa, where did she go?
Friends saw Jonathan’s eyes glaze over and his head droop.
They waved their hands in front of his eyes, but he showed no reaction.
“Jonny, what’s wrong
saying anything?”

One person shouted in his car, “Jonny, Jonny!!”
“Oh no! How could Jonny be so foolish?” The others slumped in their chairs, unsure of what to do.
The person sitting on Jonathan’s left was talking and reaching out to grab the phone in his hand.
“Jonny became like this only after seeing the phone, let me see…”
“This…” He gasped in surprise as he saw the bright red exclamation mark on the phone screen.
“Jonny, how did you get blocked?”
The others looked at each other in confusion, “Huh?! What’s going
on?”
Jonathan heard the words “block” and “delete,” and quickly snatched back his phone.
“Jonny, could it be that she found out something? Was there anything
strange about her when she left this morning?”
Jonathan heard and seemed to have thought of something. He looked at the man and hesitated before speaking.
She got up early in the morning and took a suitcase, saying that in a few days, Chet was going to take her on a trip.
The man slammed the table, attracting the attention of the crowd in the room. “Jonny, you’ve been deceived by her! She must have run away!”
“She wouldn’t just run away like that, Jonny, you quickly check if those videos are still there.”
Jonathan’s eyes darted around.
He hesitated to open his phone, and after seeing several people’s heads almost touching the phone, he turned off the phone again.
“What are you doing? Stay away!”
Several people retreated helplessly, “Jonny, what’s wrong with us. again?”
Jonathan didn’t say anything, picked up his phone, held it close to himself, and lowered his head to open that private folder.
There was nothing inside, all the dozens of videos he recorded were deleted completely.
He took a deep breath and, unwilling to give up, opened the website again, logged into the cloud drive, but there was nothing inside.
Jonathan felt like the sky was falling, he was extremely sad and started coughing violently.

After the incident at the bar, Marissa suddenly wanted her own
password one day.
He thought it was because of Christina’s two appearances that he didn’t trust himself and wanted to check his phone.

Jonathan suddenly banged his head a few times, and the people around him quickly stopped him.
“Jonny, what are you doing? You don’t have to be like this even if you don’t show it to us!”
In an instant, Jonathan remembered that it was the day he came back from KTV.
When he arrived home that day, Marissa was holding her phone and saying “Valentine’s Day…”
“Marissa, she… knows everything,” Jonathan’s voice was hoarse, each word spoken with pain.
