Chapter 16
Marissa’s heart warmed, and her eyes couldn’t help but moisten.
Chet looked at her gently and said, “I remember you used to love painting since you were young. Do you still enjoy it now?”
“Loved it! Just too busy with work, no time to paint. What’s up. Uncle Chet?” Marissa replied, puzzled.
Chet chuckled and took out a bunch of keys, “I bought a villa in the Eastern District as your studio.”
“Hmm?” Marissa took the keys. “Can I go take a look now?”
Chet nodded, “Of course, and there’s someone waiting for you there.”
Marissa looked puzzled and asked, “Wait for me? Who is it?”
Keaton and Raelynn pushed him towards the door with a meaningful look, “Alright, that person has been waiting for you for a long time, go
on.”
Marissa followed Chet into the car, looking puzzled. After a moment of thought, she turned to him and asked, “Uncle Chet, what are you guys talking about? Why are you keeping secrets from me?”
Chet drove the car, a smile forming at the corner of his mouth, “Your future husband has been waiting in that villa for a long time.”
Marissa widened her eyes, slowly turned around, and leaned back in her seat.
“Can we go in a few days? I’m not ready yet. Uncle Chet, why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
The car quickly drove into the Eastern District, and Chet shook his head without answering.
The car fell silent for a moment, and Marissa heard the “thump thump” of her own heartbeat.
She felt that her current state was not suitable for starting a new relationship.
Chet saw Marissa pouting and staring blankly in the rearview mirror, and couldn’t help but laugh.
Marissa snorted, “What are you laughing at? Uncle Chet, what was that person like?”
Chet’s eyes were wandering and his tone was casual, “His character is very good, and he is also the president of a company.”
“Don’t worry, you will definitely get along well with him. In terms of looks and physique…”
He suddenly stopped talking, Marissa paused, “Why did you stop talking?”
Chet’s fingers tapped lightly on the steering wheel, “You’re going to love it.”
“We’re here,” Chet said as he stopped the car and pointed to the villa in front of them.
After getting out of the car, he straightened his suit and turned around. to see Marissa still sitting in the passenger seat.
Marissa was tom about what to do when she saw Chet staring at her with his arms crossed.
“Uncle Chet. I…suddenly have something come up, so how about I go back first?”
Chet remained silent, circling around to the passenger side and opening the door to pull her out. His gaze was firm and
unquestionable.
He has come. hurry up and go in. And, he has been waiting for you for a long time.
After being pulled out of the car. Chet locked the vehicle and stood in front of the mansion’s gate, waiting for Marissa to open it.
Marissa slowly moved over, taking more than a minute to walk up a few steps.
She put on a pitiful expression and, under Chet’s sharp gaze, took out the key and opened the door.
The decoration style of the villa was exactly what Marissa liked. She nodded in satisfaction and walked into the art studio.
In the studio, on the walls hung the famous paintings by Picasso that she had loved since she was young, and the painting tools were also very complete.
Marissa walked up to the painting. Although it wasn’t an original, she could tell that the artist was skilled in painting.
She pushed open the glass door, and her eyes lit up immediately.
The surrounding scenery was beautiful and very quiet. Drawing here, I
wouldn’t be disturbed by anyone.
Marissa exclaimed sincerely, “Uncle Chet, the scenery here is so beautiful, I really like it.”
She looked around for a week, but didn’t see Chet. She called out in confusion, “Uncle Chet, where did you go? Uncle Chet!”
At that moment, Chet walked over holding a bouquet of roses.
His lips curved into a smile as he walked towards her affectionately.
Marissa was lost in thought for a moment before speaking blankly.
“Uncle Chet, didn’t you say someone has been waiting for me for a long time? Where are they? And what are you doing?”
Chet walked up to her and stopped, looking at her up close. He said slowly, “The person you’ve been waiting for has arrived.”
Marissa grabbed his arm and looked behind him, “No, where is everyone?”
Chet straightened her, looking serious, “It has arrived, right in front of you.”
