Chapter 20
Jonathan took the plane ticket and had already sobered up most of the alcohol. He slapped his face hard and stood up straight.
“Yes. I was going to go after her.”
He said he was going to run out the door, but was stopped by his friends.
“Jonny, don’t worry. It’s only a twenty–minute drive from your house to the airport. Why don’t you take some time to freshen up first?”
Jonathan suddenly realized that he hadn’t taken a shower in half a
month.
The present self is unkempt, with a scruffy beard and disheveled hair.
He ran his hand through his messy hair, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Right. I’ll hurry up and take a shower, change my clothes first.”
The crowd saw Jonathan, who had recovered, and smiled at each other.
About thirty minutes later, Jonathan walked out of the bathroom, having shaved in the bathtub.
He pulled out the most formal suit from the wardrobe and took out the ring from the drawer of the dressing table.
Jonathan stood in front of the mirror, tidying up his appearance. With bloodshot eyes, he looked a bit uneasy.
Friends gathered around and comforted, “Jonny, there are still a few
tickets left for this flight, we bought them to go with you.”
They teased Jonathan, “Look at you all dressed up so handsomely, make sure to rest well on the plane later.”
Looking at the concerned eyes of his friends, Jonathan nodded and felt much more at ease.
After walking out of the villa, Jonathan gave Christina a complicated look and asked, “Why did you do that?”
Christina turned her head and didn’t look at Jonathan. “I am willing. Do I still need your approval for what I want to do?”
There is one more thing, please tell her I’m sorry, it was all because of my jealousy, I almost hurt her.
Jonathan nodded, “Hmm, I will tell her.”
“If you really want to apologize to her sincerely, it’s better to tell her in person.”
After getting into the car, Jonathan immediately instructed the driver to rush to the airport at the fastest speed, taking thirteen minutes.
Arriving at the airport terminal, Jonathan clutched his boarding pass, feeling extremely nervous.
I had such a crazy day!
Jonathan and the others rushed to Houston overnight.
Three hours is a long time, but it can also pass by quickly.
Jonathan was on the plane and dared not close his eyes to rest for a
moment.
It was just getting light, and the temperature was still a bit cold.
A group of people walked on the street, looking at the surrounding buildings and sighing from time to time.
“Jonny, how many years has it been since we last came to Houston? The changes here are quite significant.”
“Yeah. I didn’t expect that coming to Houston this time was to help Jonny snatch his niece from his archenemy.”
Jonathan quietly straightened his tie, fastened his cufflinks, ran a hand through his hair. and sprayed on some cologne.
The crowd burst into laughter when they noticed him walking at the back.
“Jonny, what are you doing? You already look handsome, our car is right in front, let’s go quickly.”
“Hahaha. Jonny like this is rare to come by.”
One person put his arm around Jonathan’s shoulder and asked, “Jonny, have you figured out how to win Marissa back?”
Jonathan stared ahead with an unusually determined look in his
eyes.
For her, I was willing to do anything, I would prove my sincerity to
her.
The crowd clapped loudly, making the deserted street seem very eerie.
“Alright, let’s wish Jonny success in pursuing love this time!”

The group of people got in the car neatly and didn’t say anything more.
Jonathan nervously tapped his fingers, his gaze darting around outside the car window.
They had heard that after Marissa returned to Houston, she stayed with the Monroe family for a few days before moving into a villa in the Eastern District by herself.
About half an hour later, the car drove into Eastern District. Jonathan looked at the house number and found Marissa’s villa.
He hesitated before pressing the doorbell, anticipating the appearance of that figure.
After a few minutes, there was no response from the villa, it was pitch black inside.
He rang the doorbell several times again, but still no response.
It is now seven o’clock in the morning, usually at this time Marissa would have already gotten up.
Jonathan knew her habit of morning runs, and when he couldn’t find her at the moment, he figured she must be at the nearby park.
