Chapter 17
The moment Grace pushed open the door, countless memories flooded her mind.
The furnishings and decorations in the room were arranged exactly the same as the day they left, without any difference..
Perhaps having lived here for too long, Antonio was also moved when he revisited this familiar place, and he turned to look at Grace.
“Grace, do you remember us…”
“I don’t remember.”
Grace lowered her head, her voice barely audible.
Antonio hesitated for a moment, then pointed to the LEGO model placed in the corner, saying, “Didn’t we put it in the study after we finished assembling it? How did it end up here?”
Grace did not follow his gaze and answered him in a plain manner, “You can’t see, many memories were like illusions, they were disordered.”
Just like she thought Antonio loved her.
In fact, to him, she was nothing more than an illusion born out of desperation, like a mirage in the desert.
Because he couldn’t see, he had to rely on touch, she was like a walking stick, that’s why he felt she was important.
But when he regained his sight, he could do whatever he wanted, and she
became irrelevant.
And she, too, believed that the support they had in their youth could sustam them through all the ups and downs.
In the end, it was all just a fleeting illusion, like a reflection in a mirror or a reflection in water, a grand dream that amounted to nothing.
Antonio felt a slight heaviness in his chest as he observed the fleeting loneliness that crossed Grace’s face.
He really wanted to ask her what was wrong, but she turned around and went to the balcony.
“The piano was placed in the last room of the corridor; you can go there by yourselves.”
Listening to the fading sound of footsteps, Grace sat on the rocking chair and slowly closed her eyes.
Before long, the sunny sky suddenly turned gloomy and drizzles started to fall.
She got up and returned to the living room, and then she heard the sound of a piano coming from not far away.
It was the first piano piece she had ever heard in her life, “Love Dream
As she listened, she seemed to be transported back to the summer of when she was ten years old, and unconsciously followed the sound.
Through the window, she saw Antonio and Sofia sitting in front of the piano, playing a duet with four hands.
Even after so many years have passed, the understanding between the two of them has not diminished in the slightest. Just like before, and after
seven years have gone by, as he looked into her eyes, there was still an endless allection.
Antonio used to love Sofia so much, to the extent that even though she abandoned him for a whole seven years, he never forgot.
Yeah, one of them was a prodigy, and the other was a prodigious girl. She was the daughter of a nanny, why did she have to break into a world that didn’t belong to her? Fantasizing about possessing someone who didn’t belong to her?
If time could be rewound, she wouldn’t have fallen in love at first sight with Antonio, wouldn’t have secretly liked Antonio, and wouldn’t have gone out to take care of him, who was blind, for a whole seven years, regardless of everything.
The sound of the piano gradually diminished and finally became silent.
I don’t know when, Sofia’s hand rested on Antonio’s hand and slid the way.
up all
Through the window, she saw Sofia climb onto his shoulders and willingly offer her red lips.
“Antonio, I knew, you still loved me…”
At that moment, Grace could no longer bear it and turned away.
The rain kept getting heavier, soaking her through and through.
Her mind was filled with confusion, at times feeling like withered grass on the edge of a cliff, and at other times feeling like a capsized boat battered by waves.
Rootless and adrift, floating everywhere!
Even tears were
were
submerged in the drizzle.
No traces could be found anymore.
