Chapter 26
After staying in the ward for a few days, Antonio decided to check out early.
The day after Grace left, he made an appointment with Sofia to get a divorce. Now that the 30–day cooling–off period has also passed, he must obtain the divorce certificate as soon as possible.
That day, although Sofia was crying, she didn’t say anything in the end. She obediently went with him to register the divorce–related matters. With misty eyes, she looked at him intently and told him to be happy.
He was originally dissatisfied with Sofia, but seeing her sensible appearance, he couldn’t bear to blame her in the end, and even agreed to temporarily not disclose their divorce to the outside world.
He drove to Sofia’s house and as soon as he reached the doorstep, he was about to open the door and go in when he heard voices coming from inside.
“Grace, that bitch, saw those messages back then, why didn’t she just go and die! What’s the point of disappearing, it’s been a month already, why hasn’t Antonio moved on.”
“What good does that bitch have, after all? But luckily, I was already pregnant, and now it’s been three months. The fetus is already stable, so as long as I tell the Kaufman family about this, even if Antonio makes a big fuss, he can’t divorce me anymore.”
“Why are you getting jealous? I have always loved you, even though this pregnancy is carrying his child. But the next one will definitely be carrying yours, okay?”

The words came out intermittently, like one sharp blade after another. mercilessly piercing into Antonio’s heart.
His breathing became more rapid, and a touch of red stained his eyes.
The heavy sound of the door opening rang out, and Sofia instinctively hung up the phone, her face looking flustered as she glanced towards the door, awkwardly forcing a smile.
“Antonio, wasn’t your body still not well? How did you get discharged from the hospital?”
“Who were you talking to on the phone?”
His thin lips slightly parted, his gaze icy to the extreme.
Upon hearing the words, Sofia’s pupils contracted, and she gathered a few stray strands of hair behind her car, feigning composure.
“Antonio, I was just on the phone with my friend. She asked me if I liked
any of th
products from the King family recently. I felt a little sad when I thought about having to separate from Antonio, so I just casually responded to her.”
“What happened?”
The man sneered coldly and approached step by step
“Who did you call a jerk? And who was getting jealous of you?”
Sofia’s face turned pale in an instant, and she grabbed Antonio’s sleeve, her eyes filled with pleading.
“No. Antonio, you heard it wrong. My friend got jealous because I was with you all the time and didn’t accompany her for shopping, but she didn’t call anyone a bitch…”
Antonio pulled her hand away, his eyes involuntarily filled with a cold
emotion.
“What did you do behind my back?”
“Don’t make me check it myself, you must have said or done something to force Grace to leave!”
She was once again, just like before, tears rolling down in big drops. sniffing, unable to speak.
“I didn’t, I only found out when you told me, I didn’t do anything, Antonio!”
But this time, it did not bring about Antonio’s softening heart.
He pulled her wrist, his face looking somewhat ferocious, and the strength in his hand gradually increased, as if he wanted to crush her delicate wrist directly.
“Sofia, I didn’t have that much patience to play along with your acting. You better obediently tell the truth and everything you know,
otherwise…”
“You know I have never been a soft–hearted person.”
