Vivian Chow is afraid something will happen to the baby and is demanding to go to the
hospital for a check–up.
Mr. Chow is demanding that I apologize.
Harry Lee is caught in the middle, looking at my already red and swollen cheeks.
Ultimately, he chooses the childhood sweetheart he can’t bear to lose.
“Tracy, I’ll take Vivian to the hospital first.”
“My mother is back from abroad. I’ll send you to her once I return.”
“I made a promise to Vivian, and I need you to understand. I don’t want to be someone who
breaks their word.”
Looking at the man who has shared my bed for three years,
He’s so quick to make promises to others.
But he’s long forgotten that when he married me, he vowed to love me forever.
And all the things he solemnly promised me.
The things he could have done, the things he started but abandoned…
…none of them were fulfilled after Vivian Chow returned.
Suppressing the sorrow in my heart, I just want to end this farce as quickly as possible.
“Tracy, I love you.”
Seeing my expressionless face, Harry Lee added urgently:
“No matter how you betray me.”
“My love for you has never wavered.”
Listening to him, I found it utterly ridiculous.
“How have I betrayed you?” I approached him, asking softly, “Has Mr. Lee told so many lies
that he’s forgotten whose child he’s actually carrying?”
Harry Lee was stunned. Then, remembering that Vivian Chow’s family was present, he looked
ready to confront me.
But I waved my hand, cutting him off.
“Don’t worry, I’ll leave now and won’t intrude on your family reunion.”
Hearing that Harry Lee was sending me away, Vivian Chow’s stomach pains suddenly
vanished.
She stopped insisting on going to the hospital.
She even ‘warmly‘ urged Harry Lee to help me pack.
I sneered and pointed towards the bedroom.
“My luggage is already packed. Please bring it down; I can leave now.”
Harry Lee stared at me, shocked.
But I had already put on my coat and was heading out, saying, “I was planning to stay w my mother for a few days anyway.”
He sighed in relief and hurried upstairs to help me carry my luggage down, even thoughtfully calling a taxi for me.

Because I knew his car was already filled with Vivian Chow’s personal belongings.
There was no room for me.
I sat in the taxi, watching the villa I had lived in for three years recede into the distance.
I felt no lingering attachment.
The car was silent, and I closed my eyes, feeling utterly exhausted.
It felt like I had a very long dream.
So long that I relived the first half of my life.
Loving him consumed a third of my life.
It only took me three months to see him for who he was.
Once I saw him clearly, I no longer loved him.
The car slowly pulled up in front of his mother’s house.

As I opened the car door and stepped out, my slightly swollen belly and heavy coat made
my movements feel awkward.
Harry Lee sent me a message:
“Tracy, wait a few more months for me, and I promise I’ll come and get you.”
“Once Vivian Chow’s situation is resolved, I’ll clear your name and our child’s name.”
“Then, our family of three will never be apart again.”
I looked at his confident promises.
I smiled, but didn’t reply.
Pulling my suitcase, I walked toward his mother’s house.
There was no more disappointment, no more compromise.
Only relief remained.
Goodbye, Harry Lee.
This is the last time we’ll meet.
From now on, you and I are finished.
The next day, I lay in the cold operating room.
I know that once I close my eyes and open them again, this child will be gone forever. But I won’t regret it.
I can’t allow my child to be born into a life of undeserved shame.
My consciousness began to fade, and I slowly closed my eyes.
Tears streamed down my face.
At that moment, Harry Lee, who was about to board his flight, received a phone call.
It was from a friend.
“Harry, congratulations! You can finally get rid of that burden at home.”
Harry Lee’s expression shifted, and he frowned, asking:
“What do you mean by that?”
His friend was stunned, clearly not expecting him to question him.
“You don’t know? I just saw Tracy Wyatt at the hospital.”
“She’s having an abortion and has already gone into the operating room.”
