My destination is a small mountain town, perfect for healing.
First, I need to recover.
After that, perhaps I’ll work hard to achieve my dreams.
Or maybe I’ll find peace and enjoy freedom wherever I am in the world, taking each day as it
comes.
And just like that, several months passed.
I was out eating and singing with a group of people.
I left my hometown to start over in a strange city.
Only the beginning was slightly difficult.
It took me a month to go from being socially awkward to fitting in.
During that month, I made many friends.
In the past, I devoted myself entirely to my relationship with Harry Lee.
For seven years, I had no friends and rarely socialized.
I poured my heart and soul into one person.
And completely lost myself in the process.
“Tracy Wyatt, you look very different today. Is it because…”
My colleague, Linda, wore a mischievous smile.
She glanced at the man beside me.
I joined a small company a few months ago.
His name is Kevin Cook, and he’s our company’s boss.
He was young, handsome, kind, and easy to get along with.
He insisted on fostering a friendship with me, despite our boss–subordinate relationship.
Linda often took liberties, joking about Kevin Cook and me.
The jokes stemmed from a heavy rainstorm a few days prior.
I hadn’t brought an umbrella and couldn’t hail a taxi.
I assumed I’d be stuck at the office until the rain stopped, but then Kevin Cook emerged from
his office.
“No umbrella? Can’t get a taxi? Let me give you a ride.”
He fired off three questions before I could even answer.
“Yes.”
I was only answering his first question.
But he had already picked up my bag without a second thought.
“Let’s go.”
That day, he drove me home, and we were stuck in traffic for a full hour.
Until I heard his stomach growl.
He scratched his head, looking embarrassed, and said he hadn’t eaten enough for lunch.
To express my apologies and gratitude, I treated him to dinner near my house.
It was just thin ang maal animnia

It was just this one meal, a simple exchange of courtesies.
Linda happened to see us.

Every day since then, she’s been suspicious, always thinking Kevin Cook and I are having an
affair.
Besides, I only ended my last relationship a few months ago.
Harry Lee still hasn’t signed the divorce papers’l gave him.
Kevin Cook and I are just colleagues.
Linda was watching us with excitement.
She seemed determined to get us to confess something. “You’re imagining things. Be good and curb your curiosity.” Even with a negative response, Linda wouldn’t give up.
She kept insisting on taking photos of everyone.
But most of the photos she took were of Kevin Cook and me.
My long–unseen smile was completely captured.
My long–unseen smile was completely captured.
The photos I posted on Weibo quickly received countless likes.
Among them was Harry Lee, whom I hadn’t contacted in a long time.
He’d changed his number after I left.
He could only search for me through my other social media accounts.
Picture after picture, he looked at my long–unseen smile and my flat stomach.
He sank into contemplation and remorse.
How long had it been since he’d seen my genuine smile?
And he remembered the first time he saw me, how I’d warmed his heart like a little sun.
Wasn’t he initially drawn to my cheerful personality?
So much so that during my fervent pursuit of him.
He forgot Vivian Chow and devoted himself entirely to me.
