Thomas let out a cold laugh, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Mr. Chase, why are you always so ungrateful? If you offered Dr. Hawthorne a million, I bet she’d willingly pack herself up and deliver herself straight to someone’s bed–just worried that no one would want her!”
D*mn! Is she being insulted even when she’s not doing anything?
This guy just can’t help but mock her, can he?
He’s still holding onto that insignificant matter from six years ago! How petty!
Rosalie lifted her chin proudly, glanced at him, and let out a dry laugh. “Exactly! He’s my husband, so what’s wrong with offering myself to him? And, I’m his wife–why wouldn’t he want me? Didn’t you hear what Mr. Chase said? My husband treats me really well! Forget a measly million, if I asked for ten million, he’d give it to me without a second thought! Right, Mr. Chase?”
Thomas’s lips twitched in irritation.
Meanwhile, Raymond just wished he could vanish into thin air.
Haha! Can you both stop dragging me into your argument? I’m innocent–please spare me!
Seeing Raymond’s dramatic attempt to avoid the situation, Rosalie quickly nudged him with her elbow.
This guy—refusing to play along when it matters most–definitely deserves a bad review!
Thomas raised an eyebrow with a mocking smile. “Dr. Hawthorne, you’re bragging too much. Even Mr. Chase can’t keep up with it!”
Rosalie’s face flushed with embarrassment as his words hit their mark.
At that moment, Raymond finally spoke up, “Madam, don’t worry. If you really want to offer yourself to the boss, he’ll be absolutely delighted!”
Thomas felt the urge to slap Raymond’s sycophantic face.
Who would be thrilled like that? Me? Get lost!

Noticing the shift in his boss‘ expression, Raymond quickly came up with an excuse and prepared to leave.
“Dr. Lange, here are my medical records for your review. I need to go now, so I’ll be leaving!
“Goodbye, I won’t be walking you out-
Thomas interrupted him sharply, almost urging him to leave as quickly as possible.
“Wait! Mr. Chase.”
Rosalie quickly stopped him.
“Yes? Madam, is there something else
you need?”

Rosalie glanced at Thomas by the door, feeling frustrated. With no other option, she stepped aside, leaned close to Raymond, and whispered, “Mr. Chase, could you tell me who your boss is? Do you have a picture of him? He’s my husband, and you need to tell me what he looks like, or at least his name, right?”
Raymond subtly stepped back, trying to keep a safe distance from Rosalie.
Thomas was watching from behind! He had to be careful, and maintain some space!
“Mr. Chase?”
Raymond snapped out of his daze, realizing he’d been distracted, and Rosalie had to call his attention again.
“Huh?” He shook himself out of his thoughts.
“I was asking about your boss…
“Ah! My boss! He’s quite private and doesn’t like having his photo taken.”
“Can you at least tell me his name?”
“I really can’t! I’m not supposed to say!
“Let my boss tell you himself! If I reveal it, it’ll spoil the surprise!”
Who wants this kind of surprise?!

Rosalie frowned, clearly frustrated. “Who exactly is your boss? Why is he keeping his identity hidden even for the wedding? Is he a fugitive? Is he scared of people knowing who he is?”
It wasn’t entirely her fault for having such wild thoughts–Raymond’s talk about collusion and deceit had planted the seed.
