Chapter 5
Two hours before the wedding anniversary, Theodore put in some eye drops and turned to his secretary.
“Is everything ready? Make sure the car is set to pick up Hannah when it’s
time.
‘Also, she doesn’t pay much attention to details. Her dress probably won’t fit the event. Bring the stylist with you to the hospital.”
After all the years of marriage, it was the first time Theodore wanted to give Hannah a proper celebration.
Seven years had passed. He decided it was time to move on from Rachel’s disappearance and look ahead.

He put on a formal suit and even chose the tie Hannah had once given
him.
The blue horizontal stripes didn’t match the suit perfectly, but the meaning behind it mattered more.
In the banquet hall, important figures from Los Angeles gathered.
When they saw him, they asked, “Who’s the woman you’re showing off this time?”
His expression darkened.
“Stop with the nonsense. Don’t bring up any other women again.”
The crowd fell silent. Then, a person carefully mentioned Hannah.

“So you’ve finally accepted her after all these years?”
Theodore glanced at his watch, smiling. “Not yet. But soon.
“And from now on, don’t say anything that might upset her.”

In the past, he would often bring other women to humiliate Hannah on this day.
But this time, he wanted to make things right. He was even thinking about having a child with her.
As for the rest of the women, he planned to send them away.
He believed Hannah had waited for him for seven years.
After she’d taken a bullet for him, he thought it was time to accept her.
The main part of the ceremony was close and Theodore was nervously shifting his weight.

Just then, a black car pulled up to the entrance.
He adjusted his appearance and walked over, only to be caught off guard as Amelia rushed to him with tears, hugging his waist.
“Mr. Schmidt, you promised to accompany me for the prenatal checkup today.
“You didn’t show up. I thought you were leaving me.”
Theodore’s smile froze.
She was wearing the dress he had chosen for Hannah, looking pleased with herself… He clenched his fists.
He thought Hannah understood him better and just didn’t want to show

When he smiled helplessly, the secretary he sent to pick up Hannah stepped out of the car, drenched in sweat.
“Boss, Mrs. Schmidt discharged herself from the hospital without telling
anyone.
“We found out that she disappeared after returning home. She’s nowhere to be found in Los Angeles!”
Hannah had gone missing.
Theodore’s brow twitched. He clenched his jaw, fighting the rage building
inside him.
Amelia, unfazed, looked up with a sly grin.
“No need to worry about Hannah,” she said sweetly. “She behaved well this time and gave up the main bedroom.
“I sent her out to grab condoms for us. She’s probably just running late. We can still have a fun night.”
As she reached out to touch him, her hand froze.
Theodore seized her wrist tightly, nearly bending it backward.
“Who gave you the right to kick her out?”
Terrified, Amelia started crying and held her belly. “Please don’t be cruel to me, Mr. Schmidt. I’m pregnant with your baby…”
Theodore scoffed. “Baby?”
He would never let random women have his children.

Over the years, he hadn’t taken proper precautions, enjoying himself too
much.
In the past, Hannah had always dealt with those situations calmly.
Maybe his recent reckless behavior had bored her a bit.
But now, things were different. He was ready to make anyone who hurt Hannah pay.
Without hesitation, Theodore kicked Amelia twice in the stomach and signaled for the guards.
“Abduct her child. Strip her and throw her into Area 13. Let her rot there for the rest of her life!”
He instructed through clenched teeth, then wiped his fingers on a
handkerchief.
“Hannah must be angry with me. Go on with the ceremony.
“Book all the big screens in Los Angeles. Tell her if she doesn’t show up, I’ll be waiting-”
“Don’t bother”
A voice cut Theodore off.
