Chapter 27 His Attitude
Nora and Willa both looked at her, holding their breath waiting for her answer.
“I was so hungry! Can you give me something to eat?” Graciela’s style suddenly changed.
Willa and Nora were momentarily at a loss.
A chuckle rang out in the ward, and a man’s voice with a hint of amusement came from the corner: “I didn’t expect Ms. Ferguson to be so funny in private.”
Graciela then noticed there was a fourth person in the hospital
room.
When Graciela was seen acting silly by someone she didn’t know, who was also a man, she couldn’t help but blush a little.
“Mr. Morrison, what are you doing here?”
Her expression was a bit blank, with a touch of cuteness.
Ambrose took a step forward with a smile on his face.
“The mountain didn’t come to me, so I went to the mountain.
Ms. Ferguson was the first person I confessed to and she ignored me for a month. My curiosity drove me to meet Ms. Ferguson in person and ask her about it. It was worth it. The more I got to know Ms. Ferguson, the more I was attracted to her.”
“Um, this…” Graciela felt a bit awkward, quickly exchanging glances with Willa and Nora.
Nora realized and said, “Grace, you fainted. Thanks to Mr. Morrison for arriving in time. He carried you to the hospital.”
“Uh! Thanks a lot, Mr. Morrison!”
Oh man, I owe more and more favors.
Graciela remembered giving Ambrose a good person card in front of the media at the celebration party, and just wanted to facepalm and sigh.
Seeing Ambrose’s usual smooth–talking and playful facade with a hint of sincerity, Willa was secretly alarmed.
But she didn’t want to give Ambrose a good face, she snorted, “Grace is awake, you can leave!”
Graciela and Nora were both shocked by Willa’s bluntness.
Ambrose didn’t hear anything, with a smile in his eyes, he
looked straight at Graciela and said, “I heard Ms. Ferguson is
someone who likes to repay kindness, I wonder how she’s going to thank me for helping this time?”
Graciela didn’t answer yet, Willa sneered beside her, “Seeking favors for personal gain, despicable!”
Ambrose still smiled: “Does Ms. Ferguson think so too?”
Tas
“Ugh!” Graciela was gossiping with Nora when she was
suddenly called out, “Nope. I believe in tit for tat. Mr. Morrison, what do you want me to do? Just to be clear, I won’t sleep with
you.”
“Ms. Ferguson really is more mature than some people!”
Ambrose gave Willa a meaningful look, and she rolled her eyes in response.
“Don’t worry, I, Ambrose, would never stoop to such a low act.
I’m heading to Omaford for a business trip in a few days. You
know I just returned to the country and I’m not familiar with
the area. I heard Ms. Ferguson grew up in Omaford, so I was
thinking of inviting her to be my guide and accompany me on the business trip for a few days. Can Ms. Ferguson fulfill this
request?”
“Grace had a meeting to rush to, no time to hang out with you!
Her time is precious,” Willa quickly declined on her behalf.
“Then cancel it!” His eyes still smiling, but the tone was strong
and domineering, “I will compensate Ms. Ferguson double for any losses.”
“A few measly bucks, big deal!” Willa retorted.
Seeing Ambrose’s patience wearing thin, Graciela quickly replied, “No problem, I’m free during this time. Just let Mr.
Morrison know in advance.”
“Alright! You take a good rest, recharge your energy, we’ll see
each other then!”
Ambrose said goodbye.
Willa got mad as soon as Graciela agreed, and Ambrose still had
a sour face after he left.
Graciela and Nora glanced at each other, both unable to control
their curiosity.
Graciela gave Nora a wink, and Nora quickly waved her hand to
show she didn’t dare to provoke the boss.
Graciela had to go by herself. She cleared her throat and asked,
“Willa, did you know Mr. Morrison before?”
“Who knows that scumbag!” Willa’s expression stiffened for a
J
moment, then she replied with a nasty tone.
“So, how did you treat him? I think Mr. Morrison is a nice guy!” Graciela was puzzled.
“Huh!” Willa sneered, “Grace, don’t be fooled by that scumbag.
He’s just a playboy, had so many girlfriends when he was
abroad, and none of the relationships lasted more than six
months. He said he’s pursuing you on a whim, don’t take it seriously!”
Graciela and Nora exchanged a glance and said in unison, “Don’t you not know him? How do you know so much?”
Willa was speechless, then she got angry and embarrassed:
“Who told you to agree to him? I’m telling you Grace, if you dare to be with him, I dare to end our friendship!”
After saying that, she left in a huff.
“You know, what’s the deal with Willa and Mr. Morrison?”
Graciela asked Nora, rubbing her chin as she looked at the door that had been slammed shut.
“Can’t say. You all have the same last name Morrison, I thought
you were related at first, but the boss doesn’t seem like it.
Anyway, the relationship is definitely not simple.”
“Nora, do you remember what we were talking about before
Mr. Morrison started speaking?”
“What?”
“I said, I’m hungry!!”
