Chapter 5 Play Hard to Get
Lamar stood in front of Graciela, his handsome face tinged with fury.
He saw the man following her to the restroom, so he tagged long. As he saw the man resting his hand on her shoulder, for a second, he actually couldn’t resist his urge to chop off the man’s
arm.
The man winced in pain, cursing loudly, “Who the fuck are you?
“Do you even know who I am? You fucking… M–Mr. Arellano?!”
He sobered instantly when he saw Lamar’s face.
The Arellano family’s status in Otterberg was undeniable. They were incredibly powerful, with connections spanning from government officials to underground figures.
Lamar, the future family head, was nothing but talented. At
such a young age, he was already the CEO of the Arellano
Group. Known for his ruthlessness and precision, he had dealt
with many powers that had crossed the Arellano family
secretly.
“Mr. Arellano, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you. Please spare me… Please!”
“Piss off,” Lamar said coldly.
The man immediately scrambled to leave, utterly frightened.
Lamar withdrew his gaze and happened to meet Graciela’s sparkling eyes.
“Thanks for helping me out, handsome. What’s your name? Can I have your number? I’ll treat you to a meal…”
Before she could finish speaking, Lamar dragged her to a lounge nearby, closed the door, and flipped the sign on the door to “Occupied“.
“Hey! What are you doing?”
Graciela was stunned.
In the lounge, he propped his hands against the wall and
confined her in his arms. They were so close that she could
smell the faint scent of pine on him.
He looked down, his gaze falling upon her clearly visible
cleavage.
Gritting his teeth, he said, “Your new sugar daddy let you dress
like this in public?
“Don’t you have any shame at all, Graciela?”
Graciela was even more puzzled. “New sugar daddy? What are you talking about?
“I don’t know you. Now, let go of me. I’m off!”
Lamar smiled coldly, “Oh, so this is your new trick–pretending not to know me.
“You wanna play hard to get?”
She frowned.
“It’s such a shame to see someone this good–looking a narcissist. You should get help.
“Now, get out of my way!”
She reached out to push him away, only for him to grab her
wrist and pull her toward him. In the next second, he kissed her
lips.
She widened her eyes in surprise. “You…”
He kissed her fiercely and possessively while clasping the back
of her head, deepening the kiss.
She was surprised–mostly because she didn’t repulse being kissed by him.
It was like they had done this plenty of times already.
She even found herself a bit addicted to his touch.
Realizing he was leading her to the bed, she grew wary and drove her knee toward his groin.
Yet, he was prepared. He dodged nimbly and then quickly caught her wrists with one hand, immobilizing her.
She realized he was as good at fighting as her.
In fact, he was a bit surprised, too.
They had been together for five years, yet he had never realized
she was this good at fighting.
She had been keeping secrets from him? How unimaginable.
At this, he leaned closer to her, and the familiar, sweet scent on
her mesmerized him for a second.
On a whim, he kissed the back of her fair neck before he could
even realize it.
“Be good… Grace.”
His tender murmur sent tremors through her, and she caved to
his summons.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
Leanna said outside the door, “Lamar, are you in there?”
“Lamar?!”
The name instantly jolted Graciela awake.
She glared at him, spitting, “You’re Lamar?”
While kissing her, Lamar mumbled, “Oh, so you finally decided
to drop the act?
“Now you know who I am?”
