Julian Thome stared in shock at my arm and the rashes all over me. “Stella, what happened to you?”
His gaze fell on the mango on the table, and he suddenly remembered my allergy.
He instantly panicked, fumbling in his pocket for allergy medication.
I slapped Julian Thome’s hand away, my eyes filled with disgust.
“Mr. Thome, I don’t need your pity.”
In six years, I had never addressed Julian Thome so distantly.
On the contrary, I always loved giving him various cute pet names to emphasize how special he was to me.
“Baby,” “Honey,” “My Julian…”
Julian Thome froze for a moment, then reached out, attempting to pull me from Liam Knight’s lap.
But I actively wrapped my arms around Liam Knight’s waist, pulling away from Julian Thome with utter revulsion.
“Mr. Thome, you have no right to tell me what to do.”
Julian Thome frowned impatiently, the possessiveness in his eyes intensifying.
“Stella, I’m your guardian.”
I let out a self-deprecating laugh, then reminded Julian Thome of the document he’d signed a few days ago.
“Mr. Thome, the agreement I gave you three days ago was to terminate our guardianship.”
Everyone in the city envied me for being pampered by Julian Thorne, but they also scomed me for falling in love with my guardian.
Julian Thome had endured the pressure all these years, driving away anyone who gossiped about us from the city.
But as long as our guardianship wasn’t formally terminated, we would always be the subject of wagging tongues.
So, I had secretly tricked Julian Thome into signing the termination of guardianship papers, and I’d personally planned a grand wedding.
Unfortunately, that wedding would never happen.
The scene descended into chaos. Amber White clutched the property transfer agreement, her eyes red from crying.
“Julian, if Stella doesn’t want to, don’t force her.”
Julian Thome soothed the unase. ……..
“Stella listens to me most. You don’t need to worry.”
He opened his arms to me, presumptuously offering a tempting condition.
“Stella, as long as you agree to transfer the property, we’ll get married tomorrow.”
“Didn’t you always want to marry me?”
Liam Knight, who had been silent for a long time, finally spoke. He gripped my waist, as if proclaiming his ownership, his eyes warning Julian Thome.
“Mr. Thome, trying to steal my fiancée right in front of me? That’s hardly appropriate, is it?”
The words “my fiancée” stung Julian Thome deeply. He clenched his fists, veins throbbing on his forehead.
“You, a cripple, what right do you have to compete with me?”
“Stella loves me the most. She’ll only listen to me and marry me obediently.”
I let out a snicker, tears tracing paths down my cheeks.
All along, Julian Thome only loved an obedient Stella.
She could be a stand–in for Amber White to ease his longing, and she could also be a trophy to show off.
I scoffed, painstakingly raising my hand with the cast.
“Julian Thome, after you left, they broke my hand and threw me into a beggars‘ den.”
called you nine times for help, but what were you doing then?”
A pang of distress flashed in his eyes. He frantically tried to explain himself.
“Stella, I couldn’t leave then. Amber needed me.”
“But believe me, you’re the only one in my heart.”
I pulled open my shirt to show the scar on my chest, returning all his years of fake affection to Julian Thome.
“Do you remember?”
“To save you, this place was sliced open.”
“The dagger went in almost two inches. I was in critical condition for three days and three nights.”
Julian Thome’s eyes turned red at the corners, his lips trembling violently.
I cried so hard I couldn’t breathe. Liam Knight gently patted my back to comfort me.
I took off the good luck charm from my neck, the one Julian Thorne had knelt and pleaded for, demonstrating an almost religious devotion.
“Anyone got a lighter?”
“Anyone got a lighter?”
A bodyguard handed him a lighter. I unhesitatingly it the red string.
“Julian Thome, I don’t love you anymore. From now on, we owe each other nothing
After saying that, my body went limp, and I fell unconscious.
