The day Amber White returned to the country, I had already sent paparazzi to follow her.
She had caused my parents‘ deaths for her own selfish gain. She would have to pay the price.
Amber White’s voice clearly echoed for everyone present. “Assistant Jenkins, won’t you help me with this little favor?”
“Don’t you like me very much?”
“As long as you’re willing to help me get the data for Thorne’s new project, I’ll give myself to you.”
“You want to make a huge profit too, right? After it’s done, we’ll split it fifty–fifty, and I’ll even give you a chance to pursue me.”
Julian Thome trembled with rage, frantically pulling out his phone to call the tech department.
The call connected immediately. Julian Thorne’s voice was unsteady.
“What’s the progress on the real estate project with Mr. Harrison?”
The tech team staff fell silent. The prolonged silence pushed Julian Thome to the brink of losing his mind.
He smashed everything within reach, staring intently at Amber White.
“Mr. Thome, the bid failed.”
“Mr. Harrison was furious and pulled all his funds. Our finance department is struggling to cover the capital chain gap.”
“But we found that all of the company’s liquid assets were transferred to your overseas account.”
Julian Thome’s overseas account was one he had specifically opened for Amber White.
His eyes bloodshot, he glared at Amber White, then forcefully threw his phone at her feet.
Amber White let out a long breath, a triumphant smirk on her lips.
She looked up, smiling, her expression distorted and eli
“Whether it was your father or you, you’re both my defeated opponents.”
“You’ll never be able to snatch anything from me!”
A flash of light suddenly went off in my mind. I inserted a USB drive into the computer.
Then I typed in a string of numbers. The folder, sealed for six years, finally opened.
Amber White frantically crawled to the computer. Upon seeing the file name, she collapsed onto the floor.
“A Birthday Gift for Amber.”
A familiar voice sounded as the computer automatically played an audio file.
“My dearest Amber, this is the twenty–sixth birthday gift your brother prepared for you.”
“I know you resented Father for giving me full control of the company, but that’s not how it is.”
“The burden of the company is heavy. Father and I wanted you to always be carefree.”
“Actually, Father had already transferred all the shares to your name, and I’ve been managing them on your behalf.”
“Now your assets already exceed tens of billions. Brother wants to give them back to you on your birthday.”
“Amber, Happy Birthday.”
The audio cut off abruptly. Tears blurred my vision.
Amber White knelt on the floor, distraught, murmuring to herself.
“Impossible, this is all fake!”
“You must have faked it! They clearly never considered me!”
“The old man said nothing to me when he died, but he made my brother stay with him in the ICU all night!”
“I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it!”
My voice was choked with sobs as I opened all the files in the folder.
Inside were countless documents detailing properties, mines, assets, and financial products. The beneficiary of all of them was Amber White.
“Amber White, Grandpa was spitting blood non–stop before he passed, and had incontinence.”
“He didn’t let you stay with him because he was afraid of scaring you.”
Amber White laughed hysterically. She staggered into the room, tears in her eyes as she looked at me.
“Lies! You’re lying!”
But the facts were laid bare before her. She had no choice but to believe.
Amber White frantically rushed out of the apartment. As she ran down the stairs, she missed a step and her head hit a sharp comer of the wall.
A large pool of blood gushed out. I frantically dialed 911.
Liam Knight still firmly held my hand, soothing my
ious emotions.
“Stella, I’m here.”
At the same time, the Thome Group’s frantic finance director rushed into the room.
“Mr. Thame, the company has gone bankrupt?
