Chapter 3
When you really hate someone, you can actually feel sick. I learned it for the first time.
I rushed to the trash can and threw up.
Chloe and Astor walked towards me. I hid behind the trash can, feeling nervous.
I heard Chloe talking to Astor, “How do you know for sure it’s a boy? What if it’s a girl?”
Astor laughed. “I like girls too. If it’s a girl, she’ll be gentle, cute, and considerate, just like you. That would be great, right?”
Chloe giggled. “You’re so sweet. But I’m afraid if Kelsey has a child, then you don’t have time for me and our child.”
Astor said, “Don’t worry. I’ve already arranged for it. Aden will help you move to San Francisco tomorrow.
“I’ll take the business trip as the reason to visit you every month.”
Chloe was very happy. They got into the car and drove away.
I stood up, tears blurring my vision.
I crushed the pregnancy test in my hand, feeling that I was actually lucky. I thought Astor worked too hard, so I came to the hospital alone.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t run into them, and I might still be fooled by them.
But why, Astor? If you love her so much, why did you try to win me back and refuse to divorce?
I got home late.
Astor called me dozens of times, but I didn’t answer.
As soon as I came home, he rushed over and hugged me. His eyes were full of worry. “Honey, where did you go? I’ve been looking for you everywhere!”
I said, “I went to the hospital.”
Astor got nervous immediately. He looked at me and asked me cautiously, “When did you go? Which hospital? Why didn’t you call me?”
I said, “I went to the Central Hospital. I was afraid you were busy, so I didn’t call you.”
Astor was relieved. Chloe and he went to the Maternal and Child Health Center.
He asked, “What did the doctor say? Is anything wrong with the baby?”
I said, “The doctor said we might lose the baby.”
While talking, I stared at Astor to see his reaction.
Astor looked surprised but not too sad. He held me and said, “It doesn’t matter, darling. Your health is the most important thing to me.”
Chapter 3
I felt heartbroken and wished I could kill him.

Astor really didn’t care about this child at all, so even knowing it might be lost, he wasn’t too upset.
Astor already had a child he was looking forward to.
Thinking of this, I couldn’t go on acting with him. I pushed him away, saying I was tired, and went into the room.
Soon, Astor called me to have dinner.
I didn’t want to see him at all, so I pretended to be asleep.
Astor left the room. Not long after, I heard him take a phone call and then he left in a hurry.
I immediately got up and followed him.
Astor first went to a flower shop, bought a bouquet, then went to a mall to get a bag, and then bought a dessert. He finally arrived at our wedding house.
I gripped the steering wheel, feeling more and more
nauseous.
I couldn’t believe Astor would let Chloe live in our wedding house.
I sold the old house my parents left me, and I worked day and night to earn money, so I could finally buy this house.
It was my wedding gift to Astor, our first home.
This house was not big, and the facilities in this community were not so good, but it was very meaningful.
Chapter 3
Astor ran his own business successfully. He became a rich
man in Los Angeles and owned many properties, but we never sold this house.
Astor said it was not just a house, but also evidence of my sincere love for him.
But now, he actually let another woman and their child live in this house. He insulted my love.
At this moment, I finally felt heartbroken.
I must break up with this man.
I sat in the car downstairs all night, as if punishing my past naive self. Watching Astor settle down in that house with that woman, I could completely free myself from this relationship.
The next morning, Astor came downstairs with a refreshed look, and Chloe was by his side.
She stood on her tiptoes, and gently helped Astor to wear the tie, speaking softly to him.
Astor looked at Chloe tenderly. He leaned forward and bent his waist, so Chloe could wear the tie easily. At the same time, Astor took out the phone to send a message.
My phone rang. I picked it up and saw it was a message from Astor, “There’s an important contract issue at the company. I’ve been busy working on it until now. Might be home late. Take care of yourself and eat on time. Love you.”
That sick feeling came again. I tried to hold it back, and I still couldn’t help but throw up.
