Chapter 7
The curator naturally agreed; no one dared disrespect Jesse’s wife.
By the time Nathan came to pick me up, I had been waiting outside for a long time.
He always got out of the car to open the door for me. As I saw him approaching, I suddenly felt aggrieved, and tears fell from my eyes.
Nathan looked panicked, frantically wiping my tears. “What’s wrong, Sienna?
“Who bullied you?”
“I got fired.”
Nathan’s lips tightened into a straight line, his gaze deep, but his hand gently wiped away my tears.
I didn’t expect the curator to call the next day in tears, saying he’d lost his job.
It turned out Nathan had bought the art museum, and I became the
curator.
How much did an art museum cost?
I had no idea.
All I knew was that the man who bought the museum was still cooking in the kitchen.

Chapter 7
I felt it was time for this drama to end.
“Nathan, I need to talk to you.”

Nathan was wearing a white shirt and black pants, his well–fitted clothes making his figure look even better. He was wearing an apron and cooking steak, which made him look like a husband.
“What’s wrong, babe?”
“Don’t call me ‘babe’…”
Nathan raised an eyebrow. I gritted my teeth and told him the truth–I hadn’t lost my memory.
He was silent for a moment. “So you’re saying you faked amnesia just to break up with me?”
I was confused by his question.
What did he mean? Shouldn’t he know that I pretended to have amnesia to deceive him, and he lied to me that he was my boyfriend, and then we had a big fight?
“Nathan, I didn’t lose my memory.
“You’re not my boyfriend. This whole drama ends here.”
“I don’t agree.”
Nathan turned away and continued cooking the steak as if what just happened had never occurred.
I secretly decided that after this meal, Nathan and I would be done. He lied to me, and I lied to him, so we’re even. I wouldn’t go back to the art museum–I didn’t want to be some lousy curator.

I had received an offer for a graduate program at an art university in Italy, and I would be leaving in a few days. I didn’t want anything in America
anymore.
But then. Jesse showed up.
The doorbell rang urgently at the Campbell’s villa.
“Sienna!
“Sienna, I know you didn’t lose your memory!
“Why haven’t you gone home?”
Jesse was shouting outside, and Nathan, clearly irritated, went to open it.
The moment the door opened, Jesse rushed into the villa and found me.
After not seeing him for so many days, Jesse’s face felt somewhat unfamiliar.
He hugged me, and I could smell the strong scent of women’s perfume on him. My heart began to ache again.
“Why did you lie to me?”
I pushed him away. “Didn’t you lie to me too?
“If it wasn’t for this, how would I have found out about your affair?”
Jesse’s face paled for a moment, but he still thought he could make it right.
“Sienna, I was wrong.

“Winnie already showed me your marriage certificate. Stop lying to me, Jesse.”
Jesse’s face drained of color, and he kept begging me to go home with him, but I remained unmoved.
He wouldn’t leave, so Nathan called security to drag Jesse out.
As he was being escorted away, Jesse shamelessly shouted at Nathan, “You bastard!
“Don’t think I don’t know, you’ve been coveting Sienna this whole time!
“Give her back to me!”
Nathan coldly shut the door of the villa, cutting off the bond between the two men.

He turned around and glanced at me cautiously. I pretended not to hear what Jesse had just said and silently went upstairs to pack my things.
I actually didn’t have much at the Campbells‘ villa. I came to Nathan’s house with nothing, and when I left, I only took my phone with me.
