Chapter 20
Upon seeing this, Arnold pushed Cassandra away without hesitation and ran towards Sophia. He quickly untied the ropes from her body and pulled her along as they ran out.
Just as the two were about to reach the door, Cassandra pounced like a mad dog, shouting, “You want to leave? Not so easy! Both of you, die!”
Sophia didn’t want them all to be trapped here. She quickly pushed him out and said, “Arnold, you need to go!”
In the intense flames. Arnold watched helplessly as she was pulled back by Cassandra.
“No. don’t…”
“With a loud bang, the old wooden board smashed onto Arnold’s back. causing her to grunt and collapse to the ground.”
When Arnold woke up again, he found himself lying in the hospital. with the pungent smell of disinfectant filling his nostrils. He tried to move his body, but found it aching as if it had been run over.
“With a creek, the door of the ward was pushed open.”
He looked around and saw Tristan walking in. Arnold, ignoring the pain in his body, eagerly asked, “Where is Sophia? How is she doing now?”

“She was slightly injured, but she has now recovered.”
Upon learning that she was safe, Arnold’s worries gradually dissipated.
“Arnold, thank you for sending me the message to delay time this time, so I could arrive in time to save you and Sophia. If you need anything in the future, just let me know and I will be there for you.”
Tristan’s grateful words were not finished when he was interrupted by a wave of his hand.
“I didn’t need anything. I just wanted to see her once.”
Tristan looked at him for a long time, then nodded after a while and‘ said. “Okay, I will talk to Sophia about it.”
Three days later, Sophia walked into the ward where Arnold was
staying.
The moment he saw her come in. Arnold sat up directly from the bed, with hope in his eyes: “Sophia, you’re here.”
Sophia walked up to the hospital bed, her eyes as indifferent as ever. “Tristan said you wanted to see me, and it’s time for us to put an end to this once and for all. Say whatever you need to say today.”
Seeing her so indifferent, Arnold felt a lump in his heart. “Sophia, everything before was my fault. I shouldn’t have talked to my brother about you. But are you truly happy with Tristán? The day you were kidnapped, if I hadn’t messaged him, he probably wouldn’t have even known you were in trouble. I have worked with him in the mall before. He is someone who values his career more than his family. You won’t be happy marrying him.”

Upon hearing her question, Arnold spoke without hesitation, “Of course, you will be happy if you marry me. You are the one I love the most in my life, and I will give you whatever you want.“.
“Sophia, that day in the fire, when you willingly stayed in the warehouse for me, I knew you still had me in your heart, right?”
Sophia’s lips curled into a mocking smile as she uttered the chilling words, “Arnold, pushing you out of the fire scene was not out of gratitude for you. Seven years ago, you saved me once, and this time pushing you out, our debt to each other is considered settled.”
“I am a person who is clear about love and hate. When I love, I will do my best to treat you well, eager to give you my whole heart. But once you betray me, I will not hesitate to leave and never look back. Now, my heart only belongs to Tristan, there is no place for you anymore.”
The two words “Sophia” and “Arnold” fell into Arnold’s ears, causing him unbearable pain in his heart. He grabbed her and said, “Sophia, are you trying to get back at me?”
Sophia paused in her departure, saying, “I’m not seeking revenge on you, I just don’t love you anymore.”
Arnold’s hand was too weak to let go, and his heart felt as if it had been emptied by someone.
