Chapter 3
To put it simply, not only did the thugs across from the house see me without clothes carlier, but so did the rich men online who were eligible to join the auction.
Cassian quickly hid his phone with a guilty look and tried to steer the conversation away. “It’ll be over in just a moment, nothing to get so down about. Once I get over this, there will be opportunities.”
His half–hearted tone and look of annoyance made my chest tighten.
With Emily, he could fully enjoy being close to someone, not even slightly bothered by any kind of obsessive–compulsive disorder.
But when it comes to me, I doubt he’ll ever be able to “overcome” his physical disgust.
I squeezed my hands together. I couldn’t even sense any pain anymore.
While picking out a suit for himself, Cassian spoke as if it was nothing, “Go take a nice shower. I’m bringing you to an auction tonight. I heard there’s a really rare item everyone’s excited about. Let’s go check it out.”
The moment those words hit me, I froze like I’d been shocked. Scared, I shook my head and said, “I don’t want to go. I’m not interested in the auction.”
As soon as I said that, his expression turned cold. “Why are you being so childish? Emily even offered to buy some extra jewelry for you. You’re not a kid anymore.
“You’re coming no matter what. Ever since we got married, you’ve just stayed home cleaning and cooking. The maid has nothing left to do. If

people saw you, they’d think you’re trying to steal her job. Get out and experience life a little!”
I stared at my sore, scratched hands and couldn’t help but find it somewhat amusing.
For all these years, I’ve done my best to cater to his obsessive–compulsive disorder, washing the sheets at least three times a day and scrubbing his clothes by hand every day.
Yet, it turns out that to him, it was nothing more than babysitting..
Even worse, it was something so unworthy of his attention.
When Cassian saw me just staring at my hands, his patience snapped, and he shoved me straight into the special “disinfectant water” bathtub.
After I finished cleaning up, he seemed to force himself to wipe me down, and his disgust was clear on his face.
Once he was done drying me off, he spent some time sanitizing himself before roughly pulling me into the car.
When we reached the auction, everyone was toasting and chatting excitedly about what was to come.
As soon as Emily spotted me, she walked over with a smile and immediately started inspecting my hands.
Both of them had been washed with disinfectant, now looking pale and soft, with skin as delicate as a cicada’s wing, and tiny red rashes scattered
across them.
“Tsk, Jocelyn, you really are so delicate and fragile. I heard Cassian is too hesitant to touch you. Maybe he’s worried about hurting you, right?”
Suddenly, someone blurted out, “Haha, he’s not worried about hurting

her. He clearly doesn’t want to touch her, or else why would she still be a virgin after five years of marriage?”
Laughter echoed around, growing louder and louder, as if it were waves crashing over me, overwhelming me completely.
I scowled, feeling my cheeks flush, and coldly said, “Have you said. enough?”
Cassian clicked his tongue, his dark eyes filled with clear irritation. “You’re upset when someone calls you a virgin. Can’t you tell the difference between a compliment and an insult? It shows you’re innocent. If it were anyone else, they’d secretly be pleased by the praise. Don’t be so ungrateful.”
Seeing my expression not change, a man in the room raised a glass of wine and offered it to me. “Exactly, Jocelyn. Don’t be so rude. He was just complimenting you. Here, have a drink. This wine is really high–end.”
I scanned the room, noticing that everyone was staring at me.
As I thought about the idea of auctioning my virginity, everything became clear to me.
With a cold expression, I pushed the wine glass away from me.
