Chapter 4
“Didn’t you mention we were just attending the auction? I don’t usually drink.”
Upon hearing this, Cassian’s grip on the wine glass tightened, his
knuckles turning pale. He forced down his anger as he said, “You’re so ungrateful. I told you staying at home has made you stupid. You can’t take a joke or even drink. What exactly do you want?”
I stepped back cautiously, meeting his gaze with seriousness. “I should be asking you that. What exactly is it that you want? You…”
Before I could finish my sentence, I felt a sharp needle piercing my lower
back.
Hiss!
It seemed the drug was starting to take effect. My head felt heavy, and the sounds around me grew distant. “Why waste time with her? One dose will do the trick. She’s the main piece for the auction. If we delay any longer, those big shots will start getting impatient!”
“You really did prepare everything well. Jocelyn is quite cautious. If you mess this up, everyone at the auction will be disappointed.”
Emily leaned gently against Cassian’s shoulder, her eyes filled with arrogance as she looked at me, challenging me. “Jocelyn must be feeling lucky, with so many people after her virginity. Tonight is going to be a big moment for her.”
I swayed, struggling to keep my balance, and pleaded with Cassian. through my gaze.

“Please don’t do this. I don’t want to be with another man…”
Please don’t let me become the joke of the night, trampled under the feet of those scoundrels.
As I whimpered in distress. Cassian merely pulled Emily closer, sneering. and said, “Don’t you enjoy men touching you? Since I can’t satisfy you, I’ll let someone else take my place. This way, it’s a win–win, right?”
He deliberately exaggerated his touches on Emily. Each one a cruel mockery of me.
I shut my eyes in hopelessness, the terror gradually fading.
In the blink of an eye. I was stripped bare, shoved into a clear crystal box, and tossed backstage.
“Please let me out…”
But outside, it was Cassian’s people. No one cared about my cries for help.
“Several wealthy old men are demanding to meet Jocelyn early. I didn’t realize she was still so in demand at her age. No one knows who will get her until the end, haha!”
Perhaps Cassian’s face showed some discomfort, and someone gave him a comforting pat. “Don’t
remember any of this. When it’s over, you can split the auction money with the guys.”

The laughter outside the box began to die down, and I pinched my leg to keep myself conscious.
It wasn’t until Sophia arrived and instructed her bodyguard to remove me from the box and wrap me in a blanket that I finally felt some relief.

“I didn’t know that brat would go this far!”
She had me sign the divorce agreement, and then told the bodyguard to take me to the airport.
The moment I got in the car, exhaustion took over, and I drifted into sleep.
Meanwhile, the auction hall buzzed with excitement. “The final item, ‘Maiden’s Dream‘, had already reached a pre–bid of 100 thousand dollars, and… Here is our Last Man Standing Bid!”
Cheers erupted around the room, and everyone, including Cassian, turned to follow the auctioneer’s signal.
When he spotted Sophia, his expression soured.
Sophia held up the divorce agreement and slapped it across Cassian’s face. “Since you no longer wish for Jocelyn to be your wife, she is no longer bound to you!”
