Sean calmly drank the water Eva had poured for him, then looked around the room.
“If you really sell this house, where are you going to live?” Sean asked, getting straight to the point.[]

Eva looked at him, a hint of helplessness in her eyes. She wasn’t sure whether Sean was genuinely being naive or intentionally provoking her.
“Whether I can let go or not, many things in life are destined to be lost,” she shook her head with a smile, looking at Sean. “I didn’t expect to hear this from you. I thought you understood the harsh realities of this world better than I do.“]]
Sean fell silent, lowering his gaze.

Sean sighed lightly, then shook his head in resignation. “First, I need to be involved in the project you’re working on. I need to know what you’re doing, how far you’ve gotten. One, I need to make sure you’re not wasting money, and that there’s a chance of getting it back. Two, even if you have the money, I’m not sure it’ll actually fix anything. After all, your grandfather didn’t handle things properly when he was still around.“]
Eva hesitated for a moment before nodding.
“Second,” Sean continued, looking at Eva, “You can continue living in this house, but before we’re officially divorced, I’m moving in with you.”
“Eh?”
Eva was taken aback, not quite understanding the meaning behind Sean’s words.[]
“I have my reasons,” Sean said, meeting Eva’s surprised gaze.[]
This time, Eva hesitated much longer.
Sean didn’t rush her, giving her time to think.

Sean did have his reasons. His parents weren’t entirely on board with this. If Sean had promised, they would agree, but the result would likely be one of two things: either they would divorce outright, as compensation for her, or, since it was just a loan, they wouldn’t lose anything.]
Of course, Sean hadn’t thought about divorcing her yet. So, it was the second option–he wanted his parents to believe that he wasn’t ready to divorce. He wanted them to think that he still wanted to be with Eva, and only then would they agree to support him.[]

“Ah? Um,” Eva was deep in thought, not realizing what he said at first. After a beat, she nodded.[]
“I’ll make you some light porridge. Don’t let yourself get sick again so soon after the surgery,” Sean said as he stood up effortlessly.[]
Just as he was about to leave, Eva looked up at him and suddenly spoke. “Do I need to sleep with you?“]
Sean looked down at her, their gazes locking, and the atmosphere became subtly charged. Eva looked into his eyes again and asked slowly, one word at a time, “When you said living together, do I need to sleep with you?”
