The small scar from the sutures on Eva’s body was a bit red, but it wasn’t a big problem.]

When the small patch of skin was exposed to the air, Eva couldn’t help but swallow. She dared not look at Sean, and even less at his gaze.
Sean extended his hand, but stopped just before actually touching her, there was still a faint trace of another small scar.

“Let me put some medicine on it,” Sean said, covering her clothes and then looking up at her, “Where’s the medicine?“]
“Over there…” Eva’s eyes flickered, and she reached out to point to the draw beneath the TV cabinet.
When Sean stood up to get the medicine, she took a deep breath, feeling like she could finally breathe fresh air.]
When Sean returned with the medicine and sat down again, Eva felt a discomfort that she couldn’t describe. Every time he came close to her, there was a feeling of dizziness, as if she couldn’t get enough oxygen.[]
“Pull your clothes a bit open,” Sean looked down and opened the medicine, then grabbed a cotton swab. His voice was soft as he glanced at Eva.
Eva slowly pulled her clothes up, her hand feeling heavy, her whole body mechanical.
Sean was far more calm and composed than she was. His face was expressionless as he moved closer to Eva, gently dabbing the medicine on her scar with the cotton swab.[]

When their gazes met, Eva panicked and quickly shook her head, “It’s fine, just…“]
Eva didn’t finish her sentence and stopped, slowly lowering her gaze. That’s when she realized that Sean was now gently touching the scar from her ectopic pregnancy surgery three years ago.
Eva flinched, pulling her body away from his hand and quickly covered her clothes. She didn’t dare look at Sean anymore.[]
It’s strange. Even though Sean was the one who owed her, why did she feel guilty now?[]

Eva’s chest rose and fell. She struggled to calm her emotions, but the resentment and unease from three years ago surged again. The feeling of injustice was undeniable. She didn’t want to blame anyone; it was all her choice. But deep down, the sense of grievance lingered
After several minutes of silence, Sean straightened up beside her, gently tapping her arm with the back of his hand. He changed the

“It’s fine. Your work is more important. I’m fine with eating whatever.”
After a pause, Eva added, “In the future, you don’t need to tell me when you’re out with friends. We’re just temporarily living together.”
Sean looked at her,
furrowed his brow, then chuckled, “I was at a work event, not with friends. I
