Chapter 12
“Ashley, what did you think of Mike as a good person.”
“I learned some things that you would regret if you knew.”
I caught him farting.
On the day of the competition, everyone from the club went.
Even though I couldn’t help much, at least I provided some company,
Everyone insisted that Mike treat them to dinner for coming in the first place.
I whispered, “Ranking is not important, just do your best.”
He nodded with a smile and said, “Even if I don’t win a prize, I will treat you to a meal.”
He was obviously being modest.
No matter what, his strength never fell to the point of having no ranking.
The fact is indeed so.
But he was not the first.
It was the second.
The first one is Calvin.
He stood proudly on the podium, as always looking down on “ordinary people” as if they were nothing.
Enjoying the admiring glances of others.
Then he looked at me smugly.
And I was being held in Mike’s arms.
He received the award, then rushed down in a flurry and hugged everyone in a circle.
The boys thought he was cheesy and told him not to covet themselves. They were not that kind of people.
When I arrived, I seemed to hear his strong heartbeat, and there was a smile in his voice: “Ashley, I hugged everyone for you.”
I was stunned, my heart skipped a beat.
Before I could even react, the person I was holding had already naturally let go.
Others laughed, “Not getting first place doesn’t make you sad, right?! If it does, we wouldn’t feel comfortable letting you treat us!”
Mike still had a smile on his face, genuinely happy: “If I always come in first place, am I still human? Second place is also pretty impressive, right?”
This is Mike, who never holds grudges.
He would calmly accept his mistakes after failure, then correct them, and he would also be meticulous in every trivial matter.

Throughout, he accepted that he was just an ordinary person.
Just like everyone else, I had my flaws and made mistakes.
I learned to do as he did back then, giving him a thumbs up and sincerely saying, “You’re awesome!”
He winked at me.
I didn’t see Calvin’s expression darken.
He walked towards me with a cold face, holding my hand: “Ashley, I came in first, I won.”
“We made up and went home.”
I didn’t expect him to make a scene in public, but it’s in line with his temper.
The etiquette and rules of normal people never existed in his eyes.
“I have already said, we have broken up.”
I finally became impatient.
“But I was the first. he couldn’t beat me!”
Calvin spoke persistently.
Mike’s gentle expression turned slightly cold as he said, “Let her go.”
Calvin acted as if he hadn’t heard.
“How about the first one?”
I laughed and said, “There are plenty of people who think they are the
best in the world.”
“Calvin, you really weren’t that important.”
His eyes widened.
The next second, Mike was pushed away harshly.
I staggered a few steps before standing firm.
I really forgot a little.
I forgot how sharp–tongued he was, Calvin.
So when he looked at me and Mike, I hadn’t realized what he was about to say.
“Weren’t you just thinking he was smart, wealthy, and a scion? But Ashley, do you know the truth?”
He suddenly sneered and looked at Mike: “He is not an heir at all, with no loving parents, not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he is just an orphan-”
