Where was 17 Why couldn’t I move? Why were my eyes so heavy? Why was it so dark? I heard voices in the distance, but it all sounded too jumbled up and loud, I tried moving but couldn’t. What happened to me) I wanted to scream but couldn’t. I heard her; she sounded nice. Marcella, a nurse. Something bad happened to me, hut I couldst remember what. My heart started heating out of control.
She said Dean and Aleck; I couldn 1 eontrol my heart. She said to calm down. I was conscious; I could hear but couldn’t move. Everything was dark, and it was quiet. I didn’t hear the voices anyone. I just stayed there in the darkness.

They were leaving me. I heard her talking to me.
When I saw that tear escape her eyes, I knew Marcella was right; she was listening to everything. When we got to the office, I just felt so defeated. Mac came around nine. I called Aleck to my office.
“Boss, the person that pusted your identities online was Gregory Morris, the father of Lexi and Tina. Mary Andrews has been making the rounds around the city necting someone; however, there wasn’t anything recorded on her phone.”
“Mac, spread the word: Gregory Morris should not work in the industry ever again. Also, ruin them; make sure he suffers for a while, Aleck said.

When we got home that evening, the first thing we did was check on her. Marcella was sitting beside her, reading a book out loud. When she saw us, she nodded. I headed up to my room and cleaned up. During dinner, my mother tried to get us to open up, but without her, we couldn’t. After dinner, I checked back on her. When Marcella saw me, she smiled.

We’ve been taking farm staying with her in the evenings. It’s been three months and no changes. I was sitting in my office when my assistant walked in.
Mr. Cavanaugh, there is a Miss Rea Kingsley here for you.”
“Sure, let her in. Please call my brother for me,”
“Yes, sir.”
Rea came in; her cast and bandages were gone. We haven’t seen her in the past three months, and neither have the others, because one of them visita us at the office once a week. They mentioned that she always colls them to check in and find out about Layla’s condition.
“Hey, Aleck. Did you guys move? I checked both the apartments, but they were empty, I even went back to the hospital to visit Layla, but she wasn’t at the hospital. What’s going on?” She sat down in the chair opposite my desă
“Yes, we moved. After the address was put online and the incident, we decided to shift somewhere else.”
“Okay. I called the others to ask about Layla, but they said they don’t know where you guys are or what’s going on with Layla.”
“They don’t know because we didn’t tell them where we shifted to or what is happening with her because we don’t want to share that information.”
She leaned mor and held my hand, which was fucking weird because she’s never done that before. “You guys need to be strong; she’ll be okay.” She said, squeezing my hands. I brushed it off as her being concerned; however, she didn’t let go of my hand. I removed ber hand, and she just smiled.
“What did the doctor say? When will she wake up, and where did you send her??
“Sorry, Rea, but I can’t answer any of your questions, not because I don’t trust you, but because I don’t know. My father took her out of the country for treatment, and he won’t tell us where she is or how she is.” I said, watching her action. Her eyes seemed wary, but her expression didn’t change. Dean and I decided to tell all of them the same thing that she was sent overseas, and we didn’t know where and what was happening.
just then, Dean burst through the door. When he saw who was sitting there,
“Rea, how are you feeling?” he asked her

We left the office, I told my assistant I was out for the day. Tony got us home in record time. When we walked in, Mom, Dad, and Marcella were standing in front of her roum door.
“Where is she?”
“Mr. Gavanough, I was explaining to Mr. and Mrs. Cavanaugh that you need to re–evaluate your friendships. While I was taking care of her, she opened her eyes. She cannot move them, but she can blink, Like I said, I’ve had two cuma patients before her.”
“When I saw her eyes were opened, I said to her, ‘Blink once for no and twice for yes. I asked her if she could see me; she blinked twice. I asked her i should let you know she’s awake; she blinked once.”
I looked at Dean. “I don’t understand.”
“I know, Mr. Cavanaugh, I asked her if she was afraid of someone; she blinked twice. Upon a series of questions, asked her if I should let you, your brother, and your parents know she can hear; she said yes. Please be careful with your questions, or you can trigger het back into the coma.”
“Day, we understand.”
When we walked into the room, her eyes were open, and she just stared straight ahead. I went over and sat next to her. I held her bands,
“Baby girl, you’re safe here. The only people that know you’re here are standing in this room. Are you scared of anyone in here!”
She blanked once,
“Okay, do you know the person that did this to you?” Dean asked her.

She blinked twice. Her heart was beating faster.
“It’s okay, baby girl. Do we know the person that hurt you?”
She blinked twice. I looked at Dean.
“Was it one of our friends?” Dean asked her, and she blinked twice,
“Mallory?” She blinked once.
“Andre Dean asked, and she blinked once
“Nella?” She blinked once. Her bear was beating faster, and her eyes welled up.
Rea?” Dean asked her. She blinked twice, and tenis ran down the sides of her eyes.
