“Ivan, I’m happy with my job. The hospital is restricted by rules. When I work like this, I can do more to help my patients.”
He sighed and shook his head. “Ms. Tavers, you’re recovering very well, Your casts have been removed; the incision sites are fully healed. When I return to the hospital, I’ll have your blood work done. Overall, everything seems perfect. All that’s left now is for you to regain mobility, and with Ms. James, that will be soon. You can start eating solid foods again. Ms. James knows what to do, so listen to her.”

Come on, Ivan, I’ll walk you out,” Marcella said, leading him out of the room. Aleck stood in front of me. He was about to leave when I grabbed his shirt.

“What did we do?” Dean said, looking at me with what he thought was an innocent look.

She helped me to the washroom, and I took a shower that honestly felt like heaven. She stood outside the door, waiting for me because I asked her to. I was scared I would al over again.

“Of course, Mr. Cavanaugh. Goodnight, Layla.” After she left, he stood looking at me. I stood up and looked at him. He just smiled. “Come on, princess, let’s go have dinner. Mom and Dad are waiting for you,” he said, picking me up off the floor.

I didn’t ask him. I crashed

“Okay.” Throughout dinner, they were sneaking looks at me. Pamela and Matthew kept asking me if I was sure I was okay. They fussed over me while reading their son a riot act, making sure sousething like this never happens again. After dinner, they all left, leaving me and Pamela alone.
“Be careful, Layla, okay? Matthew and I are heading back home tonight. We stayed because we were worried about you, but now you’re better and recovering well, so we can stop worrying. Listen to the boys, okay, sweetie?”
“Okay, Aunt Pam, and thank you.”

I said goodbye to them both and watched as they left. After a while, Aleck came back.

When he walked into the room, I was shocked at its size. He put me down on the bed. That’s when I noticed that the bed was bigger than the previous one. A door opened, and Dean walked out of what I assume was the bathroom because he had a towel wrapped around his waist, and water was dripping from his hap. Fuck me, I wanted him. I couldn t help but stare at him. Aleck walked into the bathroom, and Dean just stood there looking at me.

“Dean,” I whispered. He leaned in closer, licking my neck, and a shiver ran through my body.
“I can smell you, princess. Before I could register what was happening, his hands were under my dress. His mouth was on mine, his tongue speared into my mouth, and I groaned out loud. When he sank his fingers into me, I grabbed onto his shoulder and moaned louder.
“So fucking beautiful. I missed you, princess.” He pulled away from me and smiled. He sank to the floor in front of me. He took his time, his hands gliding up my legs. He kissed my inner thigh, and I trembled and closed my eyes against the feeling. I wasn’t surprised to feel a pair of hands on my neck. When 1 opened my eyes, Aleck was leaning over me. I couldn’t help but smile at him.
