Chapter 6
After returning to the dorm, I sat on my bed thinking for a long time.
Since Noah truly didn’t want anything to do with me anymore, it wouldn’t be good for us to live in the same room.
So that evening, I applied for a room change.
Perhaps because I’d always been well–behaved, my application was approved quickly.
After filling out a form in the morning, I started moving my things that afternoon.
One of the roommates saw me packing and widened his eyes in disbelief. He stammered, “Evan, you’re moving out? Does Noah know about this?”
Noah didn’t know, but he probably wanted me out of his sight anyway. I figured that counted as tacit approval.
I nodded.
He looked even more shocked.
Finally, he insisted on asking again, “Does he really know? If not, you should tell him first. Otherwise, you won’t be able to handle the consequences when Noah gets angry.”

In that moment, I snapped back to reality.
If Noah decided to hit me, one punch would knock me down so hard I wouldn’t be able to get back up.
I needed to move out quickly.
He’d be back in two days. If he found me still in the room then, he might lock the door and beat me senseless. I’d be doomed.
I sped up my packing and replied, “He knows.”
When I arrived at my new dorm, I found only one person there. He was Aron Lowe. His arms were covered in tattoos, and he was tall and muscular, looking fierce and unapproachable.
I greeted him, then carefully began making my bed.
Aron sat watching me for a moment. Suddenly, he got up, walked over, and rudely stepped on my bedding.
“Weren’t you Noah’s little sidekick? You two were inseparable. Weren’t you in the same dorm? Did he dump you?”
His words made me uncomfortable, so I angrily replied, “That’s between him and me. None of your business.”

I pushed his foot away and continued making my bed. But he twisted my arm and pinned me down.
He smiled lewdly, his eyes gleaming with disgusting greed.

“I heard you and Noah were actually lovers. Since he let you stay by his side for two years, you must have something special, right?”
His sickening, sleazy gaze swept over my body, making me want to vomit.
I protested loudly, “We’re not what you think. Get away from me.”

Aron ignored my words and laughed obscenely. “Why don’t you try with me? I can pay you too. And I’m more experienced than Noah, so I’ll definitely make you…”
Before he could finish, I violently slapped him across the face, making his head snap to the side.
I remembered Noah once saying, “If anyone bullies you, just fight back. I’ve got your back, so they won’t dare do anything to you.”
But now… he wasn’t here.
“Shit, you dare hit me? I’ll beat you to death!”
Aron’s face twisted with rage. His eyes turned red with anger as he raised his hand to hit me.
I quickly closed my eyes. Cold sweat broke out on my back from fear.

Until I heard a scream, I belatedly realized the expected pain hadn’t
come.

The sound came from Aron.
I immediately opened my eyes to see Noah punching Aron repeatedly. Aron was completely defenseless, his eyes rolling back in his head from the beating.
I snapped back to reality and frantically grabbed Noah, trying to pull him away. “Stop! You might kill him! Noah!”
Hearing my voice, Noah’s tensed muscles suddenly relaxed.
He examined me carefully and asked gravely, “Where are you hurt?”
I shook my head. “Nowhere.”
Noah sighed in relief. Ignoring the man lying on the floor, he took my hand and led me outside, bringing me to the university’s well–known dating spot, the Love Forest.
