Chapter 33
Lacy pov
Emily was popular back in high school for her attractiveness.
She was the well–known school beauty that had the boys and
was one year ahead of us.
I watched her laughed coyly and flipped her hair dramatically
when Kol held her hip and whispered something to her. I couldn’t shake off the thoughts that they were together,
because they are in same college. I wondered if they have been
spending time together over the school year, but Emily and Kol
could even be dating for all I know.
“Fucking bastard” Nancy hissed and drained her cup.
“Kol? Gorgeous I would say. Look at those abs, my unfulfilled
summer goal” Felix countered, staring dreamily at Kol’s abs.
“Silly!” Nancy scolded and threw her empty solo cup at Felix.
“What!”
‘Read the room” Nancy shot back, glaring at him.
Felix raised his hands innocently.

“Stop guys, we are getting stares” I cautioned in a low voice,
taking my eyes away from Kol’s direction before we could lock
gaze.
I tried not to think about them and distracted myself about how the whole house would look like at the end of this party. I’m definitely going to break my back cleaning all alone because Kol would never help.
Jim might…
“Her swimsuit seems like cheap“Felix broke the short silence. He eyed Emily’s bikini in obvious disgusted look.
“I thought as much” Nancy glared at Emily with dagger eyes.
“Yeah, It does look cheap though, unlike Lacy’s. This material alone is top–notch, and the design? Perfect” Felix analyzed, running his fingers along the straps of my bikini in scrutiny.
He ran a finger along the deep green strap of my bikini top, glancing down over my body appreciatively, although it was only the designer bathing suit he was looking at. A fashion student and personal shopper, Felix had an eye for designer labels.
“Disgusting” Nancy rolled her eyes and turned away from Emily and Kol’s direction.
I should turn away as well, but my eyes glued to Emily wiggling

and giggling atop my stepbrother’s lap. I couldn’t even judge her
tight cheap bikini with how sour my mood turn when I saw her
lean in and whispered something to Kol earning a wider smile
from him.
Nancy and Felix bickering could not pull my attention of the duo,
nor could the presence of about forty people around the pool
stop me from staring so intently.
All I could think of was the fact that they might sleep together
after they left the pool side. Upstairs in this house, in the same
bed he used to sleep in with me… With a sharp pain in my heart,
like being punched in the chest, I looked down at my feet and
tried to interrupt the thought.
“I wouldn’t suggest a black top with the blue skirt, it doesn’t
match please”
Felix and Nancy were still bickering about a girl’s top and how to
style it well.
“Stop glaring” Nancy whispered to me and pulled me up.
“Common, get us something to drink let’s party hard” Nancy turned to Felix urging him to refill our empty cups.
“As you wish, your highness” Felix indulge her and went ahead
to get us drinks. He soon came back with our drinks and we

started to dance.
I should have focus on Nancy trying hard to twerk her butt or
Felix that was hyping her up, I shouldn’t have glance over to Kol
again.
But I did and the music turned into an annoying background
noises, the people around me became blurry figures when my
eyes settled on Kol who was entangled with Emily.
They became my sole focus as I watched Kol pinned Emily
against a corner, his body pressed against her chest. His thumb
padded her lower lip teasingly as he spoke to her in an intense
discussion.
I felt nauseous when I force the rest of my drink down my
throat, but I resisted and swallowed.
“Common, let leave here” I pulled Nancy and Felix along without
giving them a chance to refuse or question me.
Against my own judgment, I glanced at him as we passed, but I
was surprised when I met his gaze. When his sharp, watchful
eyes met mine, I felt a rush of adrenaline. I lifted my chin and
didn’t stop, pretending to barely notice him.
Amidst the crowd, I lost Felix and Nancy. I could hardly
recognise the house anymore due to the crowd at every corner.
Chapter 33
The speakers around the whole house was blasting with the
same music. Kol’s phone was connected to the sound system
and the sound system is connected to all the speaker around
the house.
I was lost among the sweaty dancing and probably drunk young
adults‘ bodies.
