Chapter 12
Julius slumped in the chair, his hand shaking uncontrollably as he held the file.
“Did Paula and Archie hurt Eileen?”
“Did Eileen find out about the children?”
He kept repeating these two sentences, appearing unwilling to believe, but in his heart, he already understood.
Otherwise, based on Eileen’s affection for him, she would never easily mention divorce.
With this in mind, he stood up in one swift motion, without even saying goodbye to Victor, and rushed out of the ward.
Seeing this, Victor slowly picked up his phone and called Eileen.
“What? Julius doesn’t want a divorce?” Eileen’s voice trembled, her face already pale. “Why doesn’t he want a divorce? Does he still think there’s a chance for us to reconcile?”
“Brother, you must help me!”
“Don’t worry!” Seeing Eileen like this, Victor instantly felt sorry for her. “Anyway, I will make sure he signs that divorce agreement.”
After hanging up the phone, Eileen sat blankly by the window, feeling a wave of frustration in her heart.
She thought that as long as she left New York and left Julius, everything would fall into place, and her days would get better.
But no matter how she calculated, she just un
unwilling to divorce.
But why didn’t he want to leave?
Eileen couldn’t figure it out.
He clearly had no feelings for her, no, he never had any feelings for her.
Why did you have to cling to her so tightly?
She rubbed her temples in pain and looked up to see her son Gideon running towards her from a distance.
Since meeting Gideon, Eileen’s restless heart finally found a moment of
peace.
Although the mother and son were forced to be separated for many years, blood is thicker than water.
Over the past half month, they spent all their time together and quickly became the closest of friends.
Seeing her pale face, Gideon immediately ran to Eileen’s side and reached out to hold her arm. “Mom, what’s wrong? Did Gideon upset you?”
Upon hearing these words, Eileen’s heart ached once again.
Gideon left his parents‘ embrace at a young age and grew up in an orphanage alone until he was four years old.
Reading people’s words and expressions was his instinct, as well as his means of making a living.
Thinking of this, Eileen picked up her son and hugged him, lovingly kissing his little check. “It’s not Gideon’s fault, there was a bad person who made mommy upset.”
Chapter 12
“Where is that bad guy? Gideon went to fight him for his mom! The boy said, extending his small fist and gesturing.”
Eileen was amused and at the same time told herself in her heart,
Eileen, this marriage must end, she wants to start a new life with Gideon, and cannot let Julius affect them in any way.
At that moment, in the Swanton’s estate hall, Archie was crying and making a scene.
“I don’t care, I don’t care, I just want to eat the steamed cake made by my mother’s own hands, Paula, go find my mother for me, find my mother!”
He kept shaking Paula’s arm and shouting loudly.
The woman furrowed her brow and gritted her teeth as she shouted at Archie.
“What mom? Let me tell you! I am your mother, Eileen is not your mother!”
The little child, only four years old, already understood the meaning of mother early on.
He liked Paula to play with him and didn’t want his mom to chase Paula
away.
However, Paula is not a mother, and no one can replace a mother!
“You’re talking nonsense!” Archie cried out, shouting, “You’re not my mom, you’re Paula! I want to find my mom, I want to find my mom!”
Seeing this, Paula couldn’t take it anymore and reached out to slap Archic.
Archic ate something painful, stumbled and fell to the ground, his cries
one glance, he understood what was going on.
