Nightmare And Rage.
Zyrah’s Point Of View.
Darius and I didn’t speak much on the drive home, the silence in the car was deafening, filled with unsaid thoughts and shared tension from the meeting with Leo. I rested my head against the cool window, watching the city slip by like a memory I couldn’t erase.
My pulse throbbed in my ears, each beat echoing the promise of vengeance.
By the time we reached the estate, I felt the weight of exhaustion seep into my bones.
“You good?” Darius asked, eyes still burning with caution.
“I just need rest,” I murmured, stepping out.
I didn’t return to the office as my soul needed silence, and my mind needed space to rage..
Inside my room, I undressed slowly, peeling away the layers of the day like old skin. The hot bath embraced me in si- lence as steam rose from the tub, fogging the mirror as if trying to hide my reflection, but I could still see myself, the woman Ronan tried to erase.
After the bath, I ate a quiet dinner and went to bed early, letting the darkness pull me in.
I opened my eyes and to my very shock, I saw myself in Ronan’s penthouse.
“What is this?”
“How did I get here?” I asked myself as my eyes scanned around.
The kitchen glowed with golden light, I looked down and realized that I wore an apron over a cream slip. There was a pot of boiling water hissed on the stove and the smell of rosemary and garlic clung to the air.
Confusion gripped me.
“Why am I here?”
I glanced at the gloves that covered my fingers.
“This can’t be real.”
“I have left this place.”
My hands moved with muscle memory, like they remembered a life I no longer claimed. Every detail was perfect, down to the polished marble counters I used to scrub clean every morning.
“No! No, this isn’t real.”

I walked towards the counter in search of my phone and suddenly, the front door burst open as laughter echoed like glass shattering.
Walking into the house was Ronan and Seline, their bodies tangled together like wolves in heat as Seline’s arms wrapped around him, their mouths crashing in a fever of lust. Her laugh stabbed through the air as she pushed him back onto the couch.
My heart froze as I stared at them kissing passionately.
They didn’t even see me, didn’t care that I stood there, watching, breathing, and breaking.
Seline crawled on top of him, her dress rode up her thighs as she kissed him like I never existed.
“Missed me?” I heard Seline ask him as she giggled.
“Oh my love, I did.” Ronan replied as moaned her name, his arms wrapped around her waist as he planted kisses on her neck making Seline moan loudly.
My eyes hardened and at once, something dangerous inside me snapped.
“Fucking piece of shit!” I yelled as a scream tore through my throat as I lunged.
I grabbed the knife off the counter, my fingers white around the handle and I sprinted across the room with blind rage roaring in my ears.
“YOU BASTARDS!”
They turned, just in time to see the blade flash but before any of them could react, the first stab plunged into Ronan’s chest. Blood splashed on my face and I heard a loud piercing scream from Seline who tried to move away but before she could, I turned to her and stabbed her hard on her ribs.
“Die you fucking slut!” I roared at her as I continued driving the knife in and out of her chest.
Her screams blended into my cries, raw and animalistic. Seeing that I have stabbed her a number of times, I turned to Ronan who was trying to move and began to stab him repeatedly, more blood oozed out of his open chest, as my arms moved on their own, stab after stab after stab.
“You lied!”
“You used me!”
“I gave you everything!”
Blood splattered the white couch and I watched as it covered the floor and soaked my apron.
Their eyes stared blankly up at me and as the anger melted away, I realized that they were both dead.
I froze in shock as my lips began to tremble, my eyes not leaving their corpse and the pool of blood surrounding them.
“Oh no!” I gasped as the knife slid out of my hands and fell to the ground.

Nightmare And Rage.
My hands were red as my breath came in shallow gasps.
I looked around at the carnage, my legs buckled.
“Argh!” I screamed and immediately, I woke up, gasping and panting with fear buried in my eyes.
Sweat poured down my neck as my chest heaved.
My eyes scanned around and I realized that it was already dark outside.
“It was a dream, a terrible nightmare.” I place my hands on my chest.
This felt like a warning.
At once I stumbled out of bed and into the bathroom, flicked on the light, and splashed cold water on my face.
I gripped the sink, staring into the mirror and my reflection stared back.
“What the hell is happening to me?”

“What sort of nightmare is this?” I heaved a sigh and splashed more water on my face but suddenly, I heard my phone begin to ring.
I wiped my hands and walked back towards the bed.
It was Darius calling and at once, I picked.
“Zyrah, check the Internet,” he said urgently.
I frowned.
“What? Why?”
“Just do it, now.” The call went off.
Confused, I opened my browser and froze in surprise. On every blog was a video of Ronan on one knee with a velvet box in his hand.
Seline cried, laughing and nodding as the crowd around them cheered.
Ronan was proposing to her in public.
My breath caught as my vision blurred, feeling rage exploded in my chest.
“FUCK YOU, RONAN!”
I let out a scream so loud it cracked in my throat. I hurled my phone across the room and it slammed into the wall and shattered into pieces.
My fists slammed into the mattress.
“YOU THINK YOU HAVE WON?!”

“YOU FRAMED ME AND YOU THINK I WILL JUST FORGIVE YOU?”
Tears of fury blurred my sight as my breathing was erratic, my nails dug into my palms.
I walked to the mirror, chest heaving.
“You’ve declared war, Ronan.”
My reflection smirked back.
“And I’m going to end you and your darling, Selene.”
