Chapter 11 She Seems Different
“And Zayden, as long as I call him, he’ll put aside all things at hand and come to me right away. Even if…”
Tamara’s eyes were full of wickedness.
“Even if you’re doing it, he’ll still leave you alone and come to me.”
Lailah’s fists clenched so tight her nails bit into her palms, yet she felt nothing.
Indeed, in the middle of their intimacy, Tamara’s call came, and just like that, Zayden pulled away and left Lailah lying there.
And that happened more than once.
She once begged Zayden not to leave.
Zayden just told her not to be ridiculous and then left calmly.
It was like their passion in bed was an illusion.
And Lailah was left there like a miserable pet.
Lailah laughed and looked at Tamara’s face.
“So, he left me behind to have sex with you?”
Tamara’s face stiffened and then returned to calmness.
“Things between Zayden and me…aren’t as dirty as you thought…”
She could lie about anything, but not this.

Even though she was Zayden’s unforgettable crush, she couldn’t be with him before he divorced Lailah.
Otherwise, she’d be accused of being a homewrecker.
“Women who fail to maintain their marriages often moralize the hardest, branding any emotional connection outside wedlock as infidelity. But I’m the one who knew Zayden earlier,” Tamara thought.
“Dirty?” Lailah repeated the word but didn’t get mad. “Since nothing is going on between you two, what are you smug about? About your friendship? Or you can’t have a child for him? Or you can’t marry him?”
Tamara hit a nerve and her smile gradually faded away.
“So what? Even though I didn’t marry him or have a baby with him, he’d do anything for me, whatever it is,
As if thinking of something, Tamara smiled again.
“Sorry. Even the wedding meant for you was given to me… That wedding dress is my favorite. Unexpectedly, Zayden still remembers my
preferences after all these years.”
Lailah raised her brows. “It was merely a fake wedding. Do you have to be that cocky? Since you’re so good, why don’t you make him divorce me and remarry you?”
She looked into Tamara’s eyes and said, “What? You don’t want to?”
A glint of envy and resentment flashed across Tamara’s eyes.
She cracked a cold smile. “No wonder Zayden’s family dislikes you and his friends hate you. Even your husband and son aren’t close to you. You should really reflect on yourself.‘
Lailah smiled, “I’m surely not as enchanting as you. Zayden’s sister likes

you. So do his friends. Zayden and Krish are also fascinated by you. Even God…also likes you.
“Should I congratulate you on being so popular?”
Of course, Tamara understood the implied sarcasm of Lailah’s words.
Lailah was mocking Tamara for dying soon.
They were both touching each other on the spot.
Lailah wouldn’t say such mean words before.
Now, she had thought it through.
She’d fight back if anyone gave her a hard time.
Why would she keep self–sabotaging and let others feel good instead?
All of a sudden, Tamara’s eyes turned red. She said pitifully, “I know, I’ll die soon.
“You’re right. What Zayden has given me is all fake… I’m sorry. That was supposed to be your wedding…”
Immediately, an angry roar came behind Lailah.
“What do you mean by saying God also likes Mara? How dare you curse her?!”
Lailah turned her face only to see three people not far away.
Jaylen gave a fierce look and strode in her direction.
“Lailah, how dare you say that!”
Edwin, who was standing by Jaylen’s side, slightly frowned.

“Jaylen, calm down. There may be some misunderstanding…”
Jaylen interrupted him before he could finish his words.
“How can there be any misunderstanding? You and Zayden must have heard what she said. Out of jealousy, she said God liked Mara. That was a brutal curse!
“This woman always says one thing and does another. Totally two–faced! She acts like she is innocent in our faces but bullies Mara in secret.
“If we didn’t hear this coincidentally, we’d still be deceived by this vicious. woman!”
Jaylen sneered, “I’ve finally got you this time.”
Lailah stood in situ indifferently, not guilty or panicked.
When Tamara’s countenance changed, Lailah had figured that someone might be behind her.
Just as expected, Tamara was pulling her old trick again.
As Lailah turned her face, Edwin nodded at her first and then said to Jaylen, “Jaylen, Ms. Griffith is Zayden’s wife. Even if she’s made any mistakes, it’s not your business.”
Hearing Edwin say that, Jaylen stopped.
He looked at Zayden. “Zayden, you’ve heard that. She’s bullying Mara so hard. Don’t tell me you still wanna take her side.”
Zayden pursed his lips with a stern face.
“Lailah, apologize.”
Jaylen gloated, “Zayden is mad. The consequences are serious. Lailah,

you’re dead.”
Lailah shot Jaylen a glance and said nothing.
Edwin raised his brows in surprise.
Somehow, he felt that Lailah seemed different from before.
She’d explain it in the first place before.
But today, she said nothing to defend herself and even looked rather indifferent.
Seeing Lailah’s nonchalant face, Zayden felt even angrier.
He didn’t forget that Jaylen told him Lailah was here for fun.
“She’s already married. Does she know what she should do as a mother? How can she come to this kind of place?” he thought.
“Lailah,” Zayden said coldly. “Apologize to Tamara right now!”
Jaylen added, “She’s going so far. She gotta bow to Tamara.”
Lailah couldn’t bother to say a word to them.
She walked past Zayden without looking askance.
While she was passing, her wrist was seized by Zayden.
“Lailah.” Zayden’s grim voice came from above Lailah’s head. “Apologize. Did you hear me?”
