Chapter39
So Derrick didn’t care about what seemingly plausible topics Linda talked about. He only noticed that Jack kept holding up his phone to record the video, and would switch hands from time to time when he got tired.
“Let me take it.” He moved closer to Jack, lowered his voice and spoke in her ear, reaching out to control the phone.
Jack subconsciously turned his head to look at him, then suddenly realized that the distance was too close, so he quickly turned his head back, loosened his hand, and handed the phone to him.
cough.
Although they were an engaged couple, both parties had just reached adulthood, and the engagement was a business marriage that had been arranged since childhood. They had always treated each other like brothers and had no romantic feelings at all.
At least that’s what Jack thinks.
Seeing her pursing her lips and quietly moving half a step to the side, Derrick raised the corner of his lips slightly.
Is it possible that the childhood sweetheart with overwhelming fighting power also gets shy sometimes?
Linda on the stage hadn’t recited a few sentences yet, and Derrick had just taken the phone when the sound of a car suddenly came from outside.
Although the banquet hall is on the first floor, it is at the innermost part of the hotel and the sound of cars should not be able to be heard from
here.
Linda’s speech was interrupted, and everyone turned to look at the closed door in confusion.
The next second, there was a bang.
A black Apollo supercar broke through the wooden door and rushed in, causing everyone to scream and dodge in panic.
The long table with cakes and champagne towers was smashed to pieces, and the wine and cream were all over the floor. The whole scene was in
extreme chaos.
Jerrold and Audra, who were originally playing the roles of loving father and mother, suddenly changed their expressions and stared at the sports car with gloomy looks.
The car braked slammingly and stopped steadily in the middle of the
venue.
A sheepdog jumped out of the passenger window and rushed towards Linda on the stage.
Linda was afraid of dogs. She screamed and stepped back subconsciously, but she stepped on the hem of her skirt and fell headfirst.
“Ah!!! Get out of here! Get away!! Get away from me you damned
beast!!!”
Her arms and legs were flailing wildly, but others could see clearly that the Border Collie rushed over and sat down one step away from Linda. At this moment, it tilted its head and stuck out its tongue obediently, and did not try to scare Linda at all.
The driver’s door of the sports car was finally opened, and a tall boy got
out.
A pair of legs wrapped in black tights are thin, long and straight, and the
upper body is wearing a loose floral shirt.
With his slender fingers hooking down the sunglasses on his nose, he leaned lazily against the car, his whole body full of unruly spirit.
He messed up the party, but he didn’t seem to feel the slightest bit of shame, his thin and cold lips were curled up in a casual smirk.
“Oh, sister, you have such a vicious tongue? My second brother kindly gave you a cute dog as a gift. If you do
like it, forget it, but why are you scolding me so badly?”
It doesn’t seem like he has any good intentions at all, it seems more like he is deliberately trying to ruin things.
He hooked his finger at Bian Mu, “Lulu, come here.”
The Border Collie immediately ran towards him obediently, sat in front of him and wagged its tail.
Jerrold was so angry that his face turned blue. He glared at him and shouted, “Matt! Who allowed you to drive in here? What if someone gets hurt? Take your dog and drive your car away from here immediately!”
Matt put the Bian Mu into the car and said with a sigh, “Why is father so angry? Your son has been abroad for nearly two years and you didn’t show any concern for him. Now that you have a daughter, you don’t love your son anymore.”
“Don’t make me say it for the third time, get out!” Jerrold said in a more serious tone.
Matt shrugged, as if helpless, got into the car and backed away.
The eldest young master Andy came in at some point and began to calm the guests
“Everyone, I’m sorry that my brother didn’t know better and frightened

you all. I’ve ordered someone to rearrange a banquet hall next door. Please
move.”
With Andy stepping in to smooth things over, everyone gave him some face and no one pursued what had happened.
