Chapter 5
Hearing this, Valerie’s eyes filled with disbelief, tears glistening.
She screamed, “You promised me! You said as long as I got pregnant before Isabel, you would definitely marry me!”
Peter let out a cold laugh, his tone icy: “Children? Can you even be sure they’re all mine? Who knows how many men you’ve slept with to end up pregnant with so many kids! I’ve long heard about your messy private life and frequent abortions. You must have been fooling around with other men and deliberately pinning the children on me!”
To get rid of Valerie, he even pulled out his oligospermia diagnosis report and threw it harshly in front of her: “Open your eyes and look clearly! I don’t have the ability to get you pregnant with so many children at once!”
Valerie stared at the diagnosis report, finally understanding something, desperately shaking her head in explanation: “No,
no,
it’s not like that! The one fooling around is Isabel, not me –it’s her! She must have deliberately found other men, got pregnant, and then deliberately framed me! Peter, you have to believe me!”
She tried to reach out and grab Peter’s sleeve, but he shook her off: “Ridiculous! If my wife really cheated, how could the children end up in your belly? I think you’ve completely lost your mind!”

With that, Peter turned and grabbed my hand, his tone flippant: “I was just joking earlier, don’t take it seriously. She and I have nothing to do with each other! Let’s hurry inside and register our marriage. Don’t you want to be my wife?”
Peter forcibly grabbed my wrist, dragging me toward the city hall.
He knew that once news of his oligospermia got out, no other woman would be willing to marry him. Although I hadn’t gotten pregnant in two years, there were still other methods to try. Rather than lose face, he’d rather continue making do with me, his obedient puppet.
But I had long since seen through his true nature and remained completely unmoved.
Seeing me standing there stubbornly with my neck stiff, Bruce and Evelyn, who had just been looking down on me, quickly stepped forward to persuade me: “Isabel, stop making a scene. Peter was just joking earlier, don’t take it seriously! Yes, in our hearts we’ve long considered you part of our family. Hurry up and go register your marriage with Peter!”
They pushed and shoved me toward the city hall while glaring at me threateningly, pressuring me. They hoped I’d have some sense and not embarrass the Geller family.
But I had no intention of giving them what they wanted.

With a cold expression, I immediately shook off Peter’s hand and kicked him mercilessly: “I have no desire to marry into your family. Marry whoever you want, just stop disgusting me!”
With that, I turned to leave, but Peter blocked my way.
He rushed forward in a few steps, leaned close to my ear, and threatened: “Isabel, who do you think you are? You come from poverty–being able to marry into our family is your good fortune. Think about your grandmother in the hospital, think about whether your whole family can withstand our family’s wrath, then speak properly!”
In my previous life, I had indeed been somewhat attracted to Peter. After all, when a handsome, wealthy man suddenly appeared, not only pursuing me madly but also sacrificing everything for me–he bought me many things and helped solve Camilla’s medical expenses. Back then, I really did marry him with beautiful expectations of marriage and love.
However, after marriage I accidentally discovered that he suffered from oligospermia, and he had only married me to have a child. Although he did give me quite a bit of money after marriage and Camilla’s condition was controlled because of it, he spent his days out fooling around with other women, completely disregarding my feelings for him, treating me only as a soulless breeding machine.
I lived in extreme pain, and later, because of too many ovulation

injections, my ovaries atrophied, eventually deteriorating into cancer, forcing me to have my uterus removed. Exhausted in body and spirit, I died miserably, and my whole family paid the price with their lives because of me.
I owe him nothing!
