Chapter 13
“Mom, is Felicia still mad at me?” Mabel asked cautiously. “But she can’t stay mad for this long just because you came to see my concert.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Yvonne was furious again.
“Why should she be mad? She took the liberty to name the baby after herself. We haven’t even gotten mad yet!”
Edwina couldn’t hold up any longer. Felicia was still her daughter after all. and she couldn’t just stand by quietly.
“Yvonne, calm down. Licia didn’t handle it well, but please, she just had a baby. She might be a bit sensitive.”
“Sensitive? This morning, when Seymour and I went to visit her, she acted like we weren’t even there. We were the ones who were wronged.”
Mabel bit her lip. “Seymour, Felicia didn’t mean to lose her temper. Don’t blame her.”
Seymour’s face darkened. He didn’t reply.
Was this Felicia’s fault?
Seymour tried to calm himself. He had been making excuses for Felicia these past few days, but now she had taken the baby and left.
He sneered. He could still find them.
Then came a buzz.
His phone vibrated twice in his pocket. Seymour slid the screen on,
his
eyes narrowing. “I know where she is.”
“Licia, are you inside? It’s Mom. Can you open the door for me?
“Mom, don’t you know the password to her apartment?” Mabel reminded. her.
Edwina realized that she did. so she entered the password, but it didn’t. work.
Seymour put on a stern face. It seemed that she was indeed inside..
“Edwina, let me,” he said.
Almost all of Felicia’s passwords were related to Ambrose. A few were related to Seymour.
Seymour approached confidently and quickly entered six digits.
Deep down, he still thought Felicia was trying to draw his attention.
But to his disappointment, the mechanical female voice said, “Sorry, the password is incorrect. Please try again.”
His expression darkened. “I’ll try again.”
But once again, the mechanical voice responded, “Sorry, the password is incorrect. Please try again.”
Seymour was annoyed.
Felicia didn’t care much. It was just she hadn’t expected Seymour to act so quickly in finding her.
She had already told Emma and the nanny that no one could open the door without her permission.

And she changed all the passwords in the apartment.
Holding her daughter, she walked toward the bedroom. “Mina, let’s go to bed now.”
“Sey, look at how Felicia is acting! All of us are here, yet she doesn’t even open the door. She clearly doesn’t want to see us.
Yvonne felt a headache coming on. Today, Felicia embarrassed both. Seymour and her.
She made them lose face in front of their in–laws.
Felicia used to be so docile, yet now she was so willful.
The same went for Edwina.
After all, Felicia was still a Pruitt. She had always been her and her husband’s child, though not by blood. Edwina had always been contented with Felicia.
She was gentle and understanding. Although she was not as academically outstanding as her son, she was doing well.
Besides, she was also pretty. In the past, her friends would always praise Felicia whenever they saw her.
So Edwina confidently thought that Felicia would do well in her husband’s family.
But now, not only was she ignoring them and sneaking out of the hospital, but she even refused to answer any phone call.
Edwina gently reassured, “Sey, don’t be upset with Felicia. Sometimes she just wants to draw your attention. If you make a call and say something sweet, she’ll be happy.”

“Why should we be the ones to coax her? Sey hasn’t done anything Wrong!”
Seymour’s face looked grim. The argument now was getting them nowhere in solving the issue.
He took a deep breath, suppressing his frustration, and dialed Felicia’s number again.
The phone just buzzed once before it was picked up.
“Felicia, stop causing trouble. Open the door quickly. We’re here to see the bab…”
Before he could finish, the phone was abruptly hung up.

Seymour had put the phone on speaker, and in front of everyone, he had been cut off.
Mabel sneered. Wasn’t Felicia going crazy?
Men like Seymour would never fall for this kind of “hard to get” tactic.
She gently called out, “Sey, don’t bother. Felicia probably just hasn’t come around yet.”
“Enough!” Seymour cut her off roughly, not realizing that it was Mabel speaking.
Mabel froze.
This was the first time Seymour had been so harsh to her in front of everyone. Was it because of Felicia?
He kept replaying what had happened between Felicia and him in the past two days in his mind.
He felt a slight panic.
Could she really want a divorce?
When Felicia mentioned divorce, he hadn’t taken it seriously and she never brought it up again.
