Felicia noticed the recording pen clipped in his suit pocket, realizing it was standard practice at their law firm. She glanced through the
document and signed it decisively.
“Okay. I also need to make four copies of your personal documents and marriage certificate. Two of these copies will need to be submitted to the court later.”
Rashad opened the family records and paused. Then, he asked, “Ms. Pruitt, you and your husband are not registered at the same address?”
“Yes.” she replied, “I have never changed my residential address.”
This apartment was purchased before marriage, so her residential address was in this district, but Seymour and Ambrose were registered in another district.
She had intended to change her address to match theirs, but some issues delayed the process.
Now that she was getting a divorce, it actually made the process more
convenient.
“Alright, all the necessary paperwork here is complete. I will submit the supplementary documents to the court. The first hearing should be scheduled by the end of the month, and your husband should receive the summons in about two weeks.”
Felicia smiled slightly, “Thank you, Mr. Pineda.”
“It’s my duty.”

Rashad’s eyes flickered slightly. “Ms. Pruitt. I will do my best to ensure the best conditions for you and your daughter.”
“Thank you, Mr. Pineda, for your efforts.”
Since Darrick had introduced Rashad, she felt more reassured.:
“Ms. Pruitt, Mr. Jackson is waiting for you to return to the lab.”
Felicia’s eyes lit up. “Mr. Pineda, are you also a student of Mr. Jackson?”
Usually, Darrick wouldn’t recommend someone casually unless they were his students.
Rashad smiled faintly, “I studied under Mr. Jackson for four years as an undergraduate, and I am a few years ahead of you.”
No wonder she hadn’t seen Rashad before.
Felicia suddenly realized something and asked in surprise, “Wait, Mr. Pineda, did you switch to studying law?”
Rashad’s eyes behind his gold–rimmed glasses flickered slightly. “I minored in law during my undergraduate studies and fully transitioned to law for my graduate degree.”
Felicia was stunned.
It seemed Rashad was even more unconventional than her.
Rashad didn’t stay long, and Felicia, as usual, escorted him to the door.
However, when she opened the door, they encountered two men, one large and one small.
Seymour’s face darkened instantly upon seeing Rashad. “Felicia, who is he?”
Rashad paused slightly, then smiled. “I am a friend of Ms. Pruitt
“Ms. Pruitt, Lapologize for the disturbance today. I will leave now.”
He merely nodded politely to Seymour and left with a calm pace
Felicia looked at Seymour whose face was dark and Ambrose who was blinking at her, and took a deep breath.
“Mommy, who was that man?” Ambrose broke the silence first.
Felicia pressed her lips together for a moment and then said, “Didn’t he just say he’s a friend of mine?”
The word “friend” sounded particularly unpleasant to Seymour’s cars.
He had come three times and been turned away each time, yet today, he could only see her because of this male friend of hers.
How ironic.
The doors were all open. Felicia had no intention of chasing them away today. With a calm expression, she extended her hand and said, “Come in. It’s not convenient to talk while standing at the door.”
Ambrose was happy.
He entered the house quickly, put on the slippers Felicia handed him, and asked, “Mom, where is Mina? Can I go see her?”
Felicia signaled Emma with her eyes and said to Ambrose. “She’s in the bedroom. Ambi, wash your hands before playing with her, and be gentle, okay?”
Seeing how much his mom cherished Minerva, Ambrose felt a pang of jealousy and replied. “Got it.”
As Ambrose walked away, Seymour sat down on the sofa without
hesitation.
The two maids carefully closed the bedroom door, giving them some
privacy.
Seymour looked at Felicia, whom he hadn’t seen for a few days. Her complexion had returned to a healthy glow, and the faint melancholy that used to be in her eyes was gone. It seemed she hadn’t missed him at all during these days and was actually quite content.
He asked, “How is your recovery going?”
Felicia slightly smiled and replied, “It’s okay.”
He rarely heard her speak in such a tone.
In the past, she would have gently reassured him, “Honey, I’m fine, and I’ve almost fully recovered.”
But now, she only said coldly, “It’s okay.”
His expression became cold and stern. “Felicia, I’ve unfrozen your card. If you’re comfortable with these two maids, they can come back home with
us too.
He continued, “And if our daughter takes your surname, people might think I don’t care about her.”
Felicia sneered softly, “Do you think you actually care about her?
